IT & Security Admin (DevOps Team)
About the Role
We're seeking a versatile IT & Security Admin to manage our GCP cloud infrastructure and internal IT systems. In this hybrid role, you'll maintain and scale the reliable systems that power april's AI-driven tax platform while providing IT support and ensuring SOC2 compliance. You'll work closely with engineering teams in a fast-paced fintech environment, directly impacting our ability to deliver seamless tax experiences through our partners' platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and co-own (trained by team lead) april’s cloud (GCP) infrastructure
- Workstation IT management (STIG, MDM, Azure, Google Workspaces, etc, including equipment purchases)
- Manage and improve internal IT systems, including user access, hardware, and software troubleshooting
- Own SOC2 Compliance processes & relevant security infrastructure
- Support security best practices by applying patches and updates to systems
- On-demand IT support from internal / external users
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
- Automate system provisioning and configuration using Terraform
- Monitor system performance, scale and health, and troubleshoot issues related to servers, applications, and networks
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployments and improve system reliability
Experience
- 2+ years of experience in IT positions
- 1+ years of experience in DevOps / SRE positions
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP or AWS)
- Basic knowledge in IT management (MacOS, Windows, MDM)
- Familiarity and basic experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python)
- Familiarity and basic experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of Linux and Windows system administration
- Basic networking and networking protocol knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, Firewalls, HTTP(s), RPC)
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Bonus: Experience with logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Bonus: Experience with gRPC
- Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
