Aptos Community Manager

Aptos is a people-first blockchain on a mission to help billions of people achieve universal and fair access to decentralized assets in a safe and scalable way.

About The Role

We are looking for a Japanese Community Manager to help grow and support the Aptos community in Japan. You will engage with developers, node operators, content creators, founders, and educators within the local Japanese blockchain community.

This role is best suited for a self-driven, crypto-native professional who is deeply familiar with the dynamics of effective community building in the Japanese market. Your focus will be on creating a vibrant and resilient Japanese community, while also supporting our global initiatives.

You will be responsible for developing and growing our community across digital platforms, including Telegram, GitHub, Twitter, our Discourse forum, and local platforms such as LINE. Also, you will support language-based communities in various localities around the world. You will also act as a liaison between our global community and the Japanese market. 

As part of our Community Team, you will contribute to strategy development, execution, and analysis. We uphold a positive culture by prioritizing community health and quality of experience overall. Our mission is to build a strong, resilient, and joyful community of contributors! To accomplish this, you will work with a dedicated, cross-functional team of community managers around the world.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Create a vision and strategy for sustainable community growth & development
    • Define objectives and key results to be used in weekly reports
    • Create a strategy to reach and onboard community members from outside the Aptos ecosystem, educating them on the Aptos ecosystem and its unique advantages 
    • Nurture and support the community, converting new members into project advocates
    • Work closely with the Head of Community and APAC Marketing Lead to implement your strategy
  • Manage the Japanese Collective
    • Work with our Head of Community and Collective Manager to support Japanese ambassadors through grants, resources, and other forms of help.
  • Organize Events and Activations: Manage planning, scheduling, promotion, execution, and optimization of key community events online and offline
    • Build, maintain, and operate a calendar of content, events, and activities
    • Support online and in-person hackathons, meetups, webinars, and conferences
  • Providing Support: Engage with leaders in the community to help anyone get involved, connecting various contributors with projects and other opportunities
    • Answer technical and non-technical user questions, help with troubleshooting Aptos products
    • Create innovative, scalable processes to make community members feel valued and supported
  • Monitor Community Health: track performance using available tools / dashboards (Orbit.love) and make recommendations to improve structures and processes
  • Gather Feedback: understand community needs and how to address unique challenges
    • Surface wonderful stories that emerge from our community
  • Amplify Messages: work closely with our Marketing Team to drive meaningful awareness and quality engagement
    • Contribute to weekly community updates about projects in our ecosystem
    • Help manage the Japan X account to share local wins and news
  • Share Knowledge: develop educational content such as blog posts, guides, videos, etc.
  • Build Connections: work with ecosystem contributors to coordinate various initiatives

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Excellent communication skills (native Japanese and fluent English)
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a community manager or similar position
  • 2+ years moderating active Telegram, LINE, and related platforms
  • Relevant professional experience in social media, digital marketing, or analytics
  • Deep enthusiasm, knowledge, and familiarity with the blockchain / crypto industry
  • Detail oriented with great problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Strong sense of accountability, responsiveness, and empathy
