At Aquatic, we are actively recruiting for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of trading operations and core engineering, owning the production reliability of real-time trading systems while partnering with quant researchers and developers. You'll be responsible for building automation that ensures reliability, scalability, and observability of our trading systems. This role emphasizes clean, maintainable Python code and robust systems design.

Role Details

  • Monitor and maintain the performance, reliability, and stability of trading systems across global markets
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions to trading activities
  • Collaborate with traders, developers, and system administrators to optimize trading environments and deploy new strategies or systems
  • Develop tools and create solutions to automate workflows, improve operational efficiency, and enhance system functionality
  • Manage distributed systems that handle high-frequency trading across multiple exchanges
  • Build CI/CD pipelines and monitoring solutions to ensure efficient system deployment and performance tracking
  • Use statistical tools to analyze system performance, pinpoint defects, and implement solutions to enhance reliability and efficiency
  • Minimize errors in trading processes by addressing root causes of recurring issues, ensuring near-perfect system quality
  • Ensure trading systems meet trader requirements by aligning operational improvements with end-user needs

Technical Experience: 

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering roles
  • Strong Python programming skills with experience building production-grade applications
  • Proven experience in building and scaling distributed systems and production-grade automation
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and production debugging
  • Comfortable in high-stakes environments where uptime, latency, and reliability matter

The base salary for this role is anticipated to be between $150,000 and $300,000, which is based on information at the time of posting. This position may also be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as a discretionary bonus, and benefits. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their unique skills, qualifications and relevant experience.
