Aquia is hiring a senior-level Cloud Infrastructure Architect to support a Department of Defense (DoD) Software Factory. The successful candidate will serve as a Kubernetes Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a team responsible for securing and maintaining a hardened container repository, designed to automate, secure and accelerate the approval process of commercial and open-source containers to be used within the DoD. This role combines hands-on engineering, architecture, and leadership skills.

 

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens eligible for a DoD SECRET clearance.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Builds, maintains, and configures elastic, cost-effective, resilient, and secure containerized workloads using Infrastructure-as-Code principles in Development, Test, and Live environments.
  • Designs containerized solutions for relational/non-relational databases, data auditing, caching, and performance.
  • Manages different Kubernetes providers (Amazon EKS / Fargate, Azure KS and Google KE) .
  • Works with other Architects on Security, Data protection, and Failover Failback strategies.
  • Implements Continuous Integration, Delivery, and Deployment using different CI/CD tools by container registries.
  • Leverage and develop IaC/CaC to be fully cloud and on-premise agnostic leveraging technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm and Kubernetes Operators and/or similar.

 

What we're looking for:

 

  • 5+ years Cloud Infrastructure related work including AWS, GCP or other cloud service providers
  • Expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes and Containerization generally
  • Expert-level knowledge of DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design
  • Experience developing tools and automation with Python, Golang, or other scripting language
  • Expert-level knowledge of Cloud Security architectures, tools, and best-practices
  • Proficiency in secure software development practices, release planning, testing, and quality assurance (DevSecOps)
  • Proficiency with modern Infrastructure as code tooling (CDK, Terraform), and experience using Python, Golang, or other scripting languages
  • Familiarity with security and privacy frameworks, standards and regulations like GDPR, CCPA, CSA STAR, ISO 27000 series, NIST, etc.
  • Strong learning ability, strong self-drive, good adaptability and passion for security.
  • Comfortable leading conversations with both engineers and senior executives.
