Job Description – Team Lead
Position Summary:
The Custom Data Integration (CDI) team is the operational backbone that enables Arcadia to ingest and standardize utility data beyond the limits of its core product and automation layer. The team handles non-standard customer needs including integrations with sustainability platforms (e.g., Envizi, ESPM, NZC), custom data deliveries and reports, and processing of indirect, non-standard, landlord, and edge-case bill formats through specialized internal workflows.
As the CDI Lead, you own the Chennai CDI pod end-to-end — throughput, quality, team capability, and operational alignment with India- and US-based Product, Engineering, Customer Success, Project Manager and Data Engineering teams. You are accountable for converting highly unstructured and non-standard requirements into standardized, audit-ready outputs that support customer sustainability reporting, billing audit workflows, and compliance needs.
This is a working-leadership role, not pure people management. You will personally own the most complex projects end-to-end, while DAs and SDAs run simpler projects under your coaching and review. You will design SOPs, onboarding workflows, QA frameworks, and delivery standards across both one-time and recurring engagements — and continuously identify automation opportunities to reduce manual dependency.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Ownership
Own CDI throughput, quality, and TAT adherence across standard and custom workflows, if applicable.
Manage intake queues, balanced workload allocation, and capacity planning across DAs and SDAs based on complexity and priority.
Ensure timely delivery of CDI projects, from new customer onboarding to recurring custom workflows
Run structured operational cadences; proactively manage risks and escalations.
Data Quality & Process Governance
Define and enforce QA standards across all utility data processing workflows.
Build SOPs, exception-handling frameworks, and decision trees for complex and ambiguous scenarios.
Ensure all manual interventions are traceable, auditable, and consistent across team members.
Drive root-cause analysis and partner with R&D and/or RevOps on systemic fixes.

Team Leadership & Development
Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and capability building for DAs and SDAs.
Build team capability to independently handle complex and non-standard customer requirements.
Establish structured skill progression paths (DA → SDA → Lead) to support long-term team stability and retention.
Conduct structured 1:1s and performance reviews aligned to organizational cycles.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as the single point of ownership for CDI delivery across India and US stakeholders.
Partner with India/US counterparts and different stakeholders on customer escalations, onboarding handoffs, and edge-case triage.
Translate operational complexity into structured feedback for Product and Engineering to reduce manual dependency over time.
Maintain written-first communication across Slack, Jira, and Confluence.
Automation & Scale
Identify repetitive manual workflows suitable for automation or standardization.
Build lightweight automations within the team (Python, SQL, scripting) for small-volume work that doesn't warrant an Engineering build.
Collaborate with Engineering/Product to prioritize larger automation initiatives based on operational impact and customer value.
Reporting & Metrics
Own operational dashboards covering throughput, TAT, error rates, rework %, and exception trends.
Provide weekly and monthly performance updates to leadership.
Forecast capacity needs against customer demand and complexity mix.

Required Experience & Skills
Experience
5+ years in data operations, solutioning, data integration, or data quality roles, including 2+ years leading a team of 5 or more.
Experience in SaaS, data platforms, or operations-heavy environments with direct customer impact.
Demonstrated exposure to offshore–onshore collaboration with US stakeholders.
Technical & Domain Skills
Strong SQL for analysis, validation, and debugging.
Working Python — able to write scripts that automate repetitive work, parse files, and transform data. Engineering-grade depth not required.
Advanced Excel/Google Sheets for operational analysis.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, and structured operational workflows.
Understanding of document-heavy workflows (PDF/OCR extraction, parsing, structured transformation).
Exposure to utility, energy, billing, or similar unstructured data domains is highly desirable.
Operational & Leadership Strengths
Proven ownership of SLAs across complex, variable workflows.
Strong systems thinking — able to convert operational chaos into structured, repeatable processes.
Excellent written communication for cross-time-zone execution.
Calm, structured decision-making under escalation.

Nice to Have
Experience in sustainability, ESG, or clean energy domains.
Hands-on integration experience with platforms such as Envizi, ESPM, NZC, etc.
Familiarity with utility billing constructs (statement data, tariffs, demand charges, interval data).
Experience scaling operations teams from early-stage to mid-size structures.

Benefits:
Competitive compensation based on market standards.
We are working on a hybrid model with remote first policy
Apart from Fixed Base Salary potential candidates are eligible for following benefits
Flexible Leave Policy
Office is in the heart of the city in case you need to step in for any purpose.
Medical Insurance (1+5 Family Members)
We provide comprehensive coverage including accident policy and life Insurance.
Annual performance cycle
Quarterly team engagement activities and rewards & recognitions
L&D programs to foster professional growth
A supportive culture that values diversity, empathy, teamwork, trust, and efficiency

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
