Senior Product Manager- Processing
WHO WE ARE
Arcadia is the global utility data and energy solutions platform, processing ~$35B/year in customer utility bills across 1,000+ enterprise customers. With our leading data platform, AI-powered analytics, industry expertise, and expansive partner network, we deliver solutions for every stage of the enterprise energy management lifecycle across carbon, cost, and reliability.
The processing domain of Expense Management consumes clean bill data from Arcadia’s utility data platform, Plug, and turns it into validated, actionable payables. Much of today's processing volume runs through a mature, service-intensive operation — including capabilities inherited through past acquisitions — staffed by analysts and operations teams. This role exists to modernize the current combination of legacy technology and human-in-the-loop service delivery by introducing new technology with an emphasis on AI married to optimize processes with our talents people.
Tackling an enterprise customer’s most critical energy challenges requires out-of-the-box thinking and diverse perspectives. If you share our passion for ushering in the era of clean, cost-effective electrons, we look forward to learning what you would uniquely bring to Arcadia.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a product leader who is equally fluent in-service operations and technology product management to own Processing. You will define and execute the roadmap that normalizes and validates bill data at scale, and — critically — you will lead the transformation of a labor-intensive, legacy processing ecosystem into an AI- and automation-first operation. Understanding customer needs and market competition informs the roadmap to win in this market.
This means owning service labor optimization as a first-class product problem: understanding where manual bill entry, credential handling, and exception review consume cost and introduce error, and systematically replacing that labor with AI extraction, agentic automation, and modern tooling. The outcome is a lower cost per bill processed, healthier margins, and pricing that lets Arcadia go to market more competitively.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Processing Product & Service Roadmap
Bill Data Normalization & Validation: Own the roadmap for normalizing and validating raw bill data delivered by Plug into clean, structured payables, partnering with the data platform team on upstream data-quality feedback loops.
Service Labor Optimization: Partner with Operations leadership overseeing tariff analysts, manual bill entry, and credential handling teams to map today's most labor-intensive workflows, quantify their cost and error rates, and prioritize which to automate first.
AI & Agentic Automation: Define and drive adoption of AI-powered extraction, document processing, and agentic automation across a legacy, service-heavy ecosystem — reducing dependence on manual review while holding or improving accuracy.
Tolerancing & Exception Handling: Own the roadmap for provider-specific tolerancing rules and exception-handling logic that shrink the volume of bills routed to manual review.
Margin & Pricing Strategy: Build the business case connecting automation investment to cost-per-bill-processed improvement and translate margin gains into more competitive list pricing and packaging for go-to-market.
Legacy System Modernization: Plan and sequence the migration of processing workflows off legacy and acquired systems onto modern, automation-first tooling — without disrupting live customer operations.
Cross-Functional Partnership
Payments Alignment: Ensure Processing reliably generates clean payables that feed Payments— every downstream payment depends on the quality of Processing's output.
Retention Protection: Identify and close data quality gaps and processing errors before they become churn events.
Roadmap Execution: Maintain a prioritized, initiative-aligned roadmap with clear epics, due dates, and OKR traceability; represent Processing in cross-functional planning with Commercial, Operations, and R&D.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED
Must-Haves
Service + Technology Product Management: Proven experience owning products where the “system” includes both software and a human service operation — comfortable being accountable for a service delivery model, not just a software roadmap.
Service Labor Optimization: Track record of redesigning labor-intensive, service-heavy workflows (manual data entry, exception queues, offshore/BPO operations) into automated or AI-assisted processes, with measurable cost-per-unit improvement.
AI & Agentic Product Experience: Hands-on experience shipping AI-powered document processing, extraction, or agentic automation features into production.
Legacy Modernization: Experience modernizing or migrating workflows off legacy or acquired systems while maintaining operational continuity for live customers.
Margin & Pricing Fluency: Comfortable building business cases that connect automation and unit economics to gross margin and go-to-market pricing decisions.
Domain Familiarity: Experience with document/data extraction, validation logic, or high-volume back-office and transaction processing (utility billing or invoice processing a plus).
Experience: 6+ years of product management experience, including experience managing products with an embedded service or operations component.
Nice-to-Have
Experience integrating or modernizing service operations gained through M&A (e.g., legacy platforms, outsourced processing vendors).
Background in utility billing, invoice processing, or high-volume transaction environments.
