Sr. Social Media Manager - Instagram & Brand Storytelling (Haircare Stealth Startup)

Remote

We’re a stealth beauty startup preparing to launch a new haircare brand, and we’re looking for a Sr. Social Media Manager with a sharp creative eye and a deep love for beauty to own our Instagram presence end-to-end. Instagram is our brand billboard–your work will define how the brand shows up visually, emotionally, and narratively every day, building long-term brand equity while driving engagement.

You’ll  help launch a brand from the ground up, shaping its visual identity and cultural presence from day one. Working closely with a high-profile founder and cross-functional teams, you’ll translate high-end creative into a cohesive, elevated Instagram world, invent new formats, and maintain a timeless, on-brand aesthetic. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role where your creative instincts and strategic thinking will directly shape the brand’s voice and presence.

You’ll also partner with our TikTok lead to share content and ideas across platforms, while ensuring Instagram as a distinct, elevated expression of the brand. If you love turning beautiful creative into a living brand world, telling stories that people notice and remember, and helping a brand carve out its cultural footprint, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own the brand’s Instagram presence, including feed, stories, and reels
  • Translate high-end brand creative into a cohesive, elevated Instagram grid that acts as a living brand billboard
  • Create and maintain a consistent visual language across posts, stories, reels, and infographics
  • Design polished, on-brand social assets using tools like Canva (or similar), including:
    • Instagram stories
    • Educational graphics
    • Product storytelling content
  • Write captions that feel human, intentional, and brand-building, balancing emotion, humor, and education
  • Actively engage with the community by responding to comments and DMs in a warm, authentic, brand-appropriate voice
  • Collaborate closely with the TikTok lead to share content, ideas, and formats across platforms
  • Use AI tools to thoughtfully support ideation, content creation, and efficiency
  • Manage social content calendars, ensuring consistent, high-quality output
  • Partner with external photographers, product stylists, and models to manage photoshoots, select final assets, and ensure outputs meet brand standards

WHAT WE SEEK

  • 8+ years of experience managing Instagram for a brand, ideally in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle
  • Proven ability to build or evolve a brand’s visual identity on Instagram
  • Exceptional aesthetic judgment and a strong creative eye; portfolio or Instagram account demonstrating taste, consistency, and storytelling skill
  • Hands-on experience using design and editing tools like Canva to create polished, on-brand content
  • Experience creating social content that feels timeless, consistent, and brand-forward rather than trend-chasing
  • Strong visual and written storytelling skills, including captions that feel human, intentional, and brand-building
  • Confidence engaging with a community and representing a brand voice publicly
  • Familiarity with using AI tools to support content creation, editing, or ideation
  • Strong comfortability with photographers, stylists, and creative partners
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Passion for beauty, haircare, and brand storytelling
  • Ability to create timeless content that builds brand equity, not just chase trends

As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
