The “Fine Print” – What You’ll Do
As an intern, you will take ownership of a key project focused on phage display technology to improve selection strategies, library design, and screening methodologies:
- Phage display – Optimize our current phage display platform for the selection of low affinity binders.
- Cloning and gene sequencing – Construct and validate libraries, perform PCR, sequence DNA, and analyze data.
- Contributing to data analysis and troubleshooting – Interpret sequencing and binding assay results, troubleshoot experimental challenges, and propose optimization strategies.
Skills and Experience We Look For
- Undergraduate or Master’s degree-level coursework covering the concepts behind immunotherapy, and cell therapy.
- Familiarity with molecular biology methods, including primer design, PCR, gel electrophoresis, plasmid DNA preparation, cloning, and sequence analysis using SnapGene or similar software.
- Preferred knowledge of additional methods including DNA extraction and real-time PCR analysis, flow cytometry, and bioinformatics.
Our ideal candidate would have an enthusiasm for scientific discovery, interest in biotechnology, knowledge of the field, familiarity with molecular biology and cell culture techniques, be well-organized, work well with a team, and have the initiative to individually drive a project forward.
