The “Fine Print” – What You’ll Do
- Learn the workflow of preclinical development of novel cell therapies
- Document experimental protocols and data generation in an organized manner
- Isolate, culture, and phenotype primary immune cells
- Develop and optimize assays to characterize the functionality of novel CAR T cell candidates
- Genetic modification of cell lines and primary immune cells
- Effectively communicate scientific findings to cross functional teams
Skills and Experience We Look For
- BS with 1 year post-graduate relevant lab experience or MS in a relevant life sciences program (e.g. biological sciences, microbiology, genetics, biochemistry)
- Pursuing a graduate degree in Biological Sciences or related disciplines
- Completed at least one college-level immunology and statistics course
- Experienced with mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, PCR, and antibody-based assays (ex ELISAs, flow cytometry, western blotting)
- Proficient with Graph pad prism and Microsoft Office products such as power point and excel
- Excellent science communication skills who can work well in a collaborative team setting
- Ability to work full time on-site at our Rockville, MD site
Our ideal candidate is looking to funnel their scientific curiosity to develop the next generation of therapeutics and pursue a career within lab-based cell and gene therapy research and development. This candidate should also have a strong grasp of the scientific method and experience with independent research projects.
