The “Fine Print” – What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll ensure uninterrupted, compliant, and efficient supply of GMP raw materials, consumables, and services to support Arcellx’s manufacturing operations. This role combines strategic planning, supplier risk management, and tactical execution, with ownership for Arcellx manufacturing supply operations and broader supply chain activities.
- GMP Material Planning & Availability Management
- Execute material requirements planning (MRP) for GMP manufacturing, gowning, and operational needs.
- Establish and maintain safety stock levels, reorder points, and reorder quantities.
- Translate forecast changes and production schedules into actionable material plans.
- Develop scenario-based planning to address variability in production schedules, patient demand and supplier lead times.
- Procurement Operations & Process Ownership
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve compliant SOPs, work instructions, and process controls for P2P and S2D.
- Ensure workflows, master data, integrations, and reporting are audit-ready and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Purchase Order Execution & System Management
- Execute the end-to-end purchase order lifecycle in the ERP and ClearSpider systems.
- Manage PO creation, review, issuance, tracking, changes, transfers, returns, and replacements.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GMP and operational requirements.
- Supplier Management & Performance Oversight
- Support the maintenance of strong, compliant supplier relationships.
- Support and where applicable, drive supplier issue resolution, complaint management, and follow-up activities.
- Track, trend, and report supplier performance metrics, including OTIF, lead-time adherence, and service reliability.
- Supplier Change, Alternate & Substitute Strategy Execution
- Monitor and support supplier-driven material changes, including notifications, impact assessments, qualification support, and discontinuations.
- Define and execute alternate and substitute material strategies to mitigate supply risk.
- Coordinate implementation and lifecycle management of alternate/substitute materials with Quality, Manufacturing, and Technical Operations.
- Strategic Sourcing, Contracts & Supply Continuity
- Manage GMP raw material supplier contracts, including pricing, lead times, service levels, and commercial terms.
- Support sourcing, negotiation, and contract execution across the organization.
- Lead second-sourcing and supply continuity initiatives to reduce single-source dependency and improve resilience.
- Risk Management, Escalation & Audit Readiness
- Identify critical material risks, including long-lead, single-source, and capacity-constrained items.
- Develop mitigation plans and escalate risks to supply chain leadership.
- Ensure procurement, supplier, and material planning records are complete, accurate, and inspection-ready for internal and external audits.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Technical Operations to align procurement and material planning with operational priorities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, service performance, compliance, and data integrity.
- Analyze supplier performance and material spend data to inform sourcing strategies and operational improvements.
Skills and Experience We Look For
- 6+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology purchasing and/or sourcing.
- Proven experience managing GMP suppliers.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems and in developing reports
- Strong understanding of GMP requirements related to raw materials, supplier management, and change control.
- Must be able to work independently in a startup environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a lab setting/environment and able to handle materials up to 50lbs.

The base salary range for this position is $115,000 - $155,000 per year. Where a candidate falls within that range is determined by factors such as years of experience. Our compensation package also includes an annual bonus based on company goals and an equity (RSU) grant. We do offer relocation assistance for roles if required.
