EPU IPT Quality Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled candidate specializing in aerospace and/or powertrain components to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will own a high-level quality program plan for powertrain components and be responsible for coordinating actions and priorities across multiple groups. This will include aligning direct quality representatives and high touchpoints with design and supply chain partners. This candidate must be highly organized and comfortable presenting to all levels of internal partners and customers and managing strong relationships with vendors. Technical familiarity with the hardware will greatly contribute to this role's success. They will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality throughout the product lifecycle of the aircraft. This includes overseeing design validation, supplier deliverables, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the delivery of a safe, reliable, and high-quality aircraft to own quality improvements across the Electric Propulsion Unit (EPU) program.
What you’ll do
- Be a highly collaborative single-point contact for all quality activities within electric propulsion
- Coordinate and track tactical and strategic quality priorities and risks across design, manufacturing, and flight testing
- Develop metrics and KPIs to assess and act throughout the EPU program to drive continuous improvement
- Responsible for the total quality plan of key parts, including supplier, incoming, in-process, and EOL inspection plans, ensuring knowledge transfer of supplier quality performance to process quality
- Oversee and drive progress and closure on all EPU RCCA activities
- Bring a collaborative attitude to all interactions, including excellent written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail with the ability to communicate and build cross-functional relationships
- Assist in the planning and process for company inspection in support of FAA and Company conformity inspection and certification process
What you need
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial) with at least 5+ years experience
- Experience in program management, meeting deliverables in a highly collaborative environment
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment in aerospace or other highly regulated environments
- Experience with design reviews, including assessing the ability to verify dimensional requirements GD&T ASME Y14.5 (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Knowledge of APQP - creating PPAPs, DFM, MSAs, FMEA,s and SPC.
- Knowledge of Quality Standards such as AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, and AS6500.
Bonus qualifications
- Experience with SAP
- Experience developing real-time dashboards using Sigma or other similar programs
- Six Sigma Black/Green Belt or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer
- Working knowledge of electric engine manufacturing and testing processes
- EV/eVTOL knowledge or experience in Aerospace

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position, we are targeting a base pay between $150,000 and $167,000. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
