Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.
Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to develop and maintain robust data pipelines for our flight testing, powertrain testing, and component testing operations. This role will be critical in ensuring efficient data flow from our aircraft systems to our engineering teams, enabling rapid iteration and validation of our eVTOL technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines to ingest, process, and store telemetry data from flight tests, powertrain tests, and component tests
- Develop automated systems to validate data quality, flag anomalies, and ensure data integrity across testing platforms
- Create and maintain scalable data processing architecture that can handle high-frequency sensor data from multiple aircraft systems
- Work closely with flight test engineers to understand data requirements and develop tools for efficient analysis of flight performance metrics
- Build real-time and batch processing solutions for powertrain performance monitoring, including electric motor efficiency, battery performance, and thermal management systems
- Implement data visualization solutions that allow engineers to quickly identify trends and anomalies in test data
- Collaborate with aerospace engineers to develop specialized analytics for aerodynamic performance, structural loads, and flight controls
- Establish data governance practices for test data, ensuring proper versioning, security, and accessibility
