Indirect Sourcing Manager
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. The Indirect Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives across a range of indirect spend categories—including but not limited to IT, Marketing, Professional Services, Facilities, and HR. This role plays a key part in driving cost efficiencies, supplier performance, and value creation for the organization. By partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers, the Indirect Sourcing Manager ensures procurement activities align with business objectives while maintaining compliance, managing risk, and fostering innovation. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills to optimize supplier relationships and deliver measurable business results.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop sourcing strategies with cross-functional leaders to reduce cost and increase value
- Analyze spend reports, identify high-impact opportunities, and enable informed action
- Respond to evolving business needs by negotiating contracts of varying structure, scope, and industry
- Conduct market research projects to develop new connections and high-value alternatives
- Enforce agreements and manage escalations to protect strong functional relationships and boosting project results
- Demonstrate impact through clear communication of results to executive leaders
- Operate efficiently and effectively, maximizing the points of impact across the organization
- Lead RFx activities to develop leverage and craft impactful partnership opportunities
- Partner with legal, finance, and functional leaders to develop leverage and execute complex cost reduction and value improvement projects
- Full time, based at Archer Headquarters in San Jose
- Travel: up to 20%
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Operations.
- 5+ years of related experience in supply chain, supplier management, or operations.
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- An insatiable curiosity and a keen attention to detail
- Exceptional negotiation skills
- Powerful executive communication skills
- Thorough understanding of a diverse set of contract structures
- Proven ability to dive into an unfamiliar subject and develop a deep expertise
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and highly-regulated environment
- Ability to cut through ambiguity and detail limitations to make concrete and sound decisions
- Solid analytical and computer skills (excel/sheets, word/docs, powerpoint/slides)

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $101760 - $127200. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
