Sourcing Specialist
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. The Sourcing organization plays a vital role in shaping the future of our supply chain. A crucial part of the Operations organization, the sourcing team introduces best-in-class capabilities to Archer’s supply base by identifying and partnering with industry leaders across the globe. We forge strong partnerships both internally and externally across industries, maximize cost-effectiveness, and amplify product excellence.
This role sits at the leading edge of that effort, applying a keen eye and a depth of technical experience to assess Supplier capabilities and put Archer in the best position to succeed with a highly capable supply base. The ideal candidate is able to translate those assessments into internal engineering reviews, working cross-functionally to maximize production efficiency and performance. What You’ll Do:
- Influence sourcing strategies to introduce high-impact capabilities to the supply base
- Gain a hands-on understanding of a supplier’s existing abilities and future growth
- Leverage existing expertise to advise as a technical expert in commercial negotiations
- Manage critical conflicts through in-person presence
- Demonstrate impact and introduce clarity to executive-level presentations
- Develop a deep understanding of industry and market trends, educating key stakeholders and integrating new data into innovative approaches
- Work cross-functionally to continuously evolve policies and processes to enhance efficiency
- Remote work available; Ranges for travel & salary assume a San Jose HQ base
- Travel: ~30-50%
What You Need:

- Powerful communication skills
- Proven ability to dive into any subject and develop a deep technical expertise
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and highly-regulated environment
- Ability to cut through ambiguity and detail limitations to make concrete and sound decisions
- Solid analytical and computer skills (excel/sheets, word/docs, powerpoint/slides)
- 5-10+ years of experience
Bonus Qualifications:
- Training in presentation and communication skills
- APICS Certification

At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business. We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $101,760 - $127,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
