Digital Technology Operations Lead
Archer is an aerospace company based in San Jose, California building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft with a mission to advance the benefits of sustainable air mobility. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating an all-electric aircraft that can carry four passengers while producing minimal noise.
Our sights are set high and our problems are hard, and we believe that diversity in the workplace is what makes us smarter, drives better insights, and will ultimately lift us all to success. We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.
The Digital Technology Operations Lead is responsible for the day-to-day operational execution of Archer’s Digital Technology Initiative. This role ensures that digital technology programs, platforms, and cross-functional initiatives move from strategy to delivery with speed, discipline, and transparency.
Operating at the intersection of Corporate Technology, Business Systems, Engineering, Manufacturing, Flight Test, and Operations, this leader drives execution rigor, removes delivery friction, manages dependencies, and ensures commitments translate into measurable outcomes. This role partners closely with Digital Technology leadership and functional owners but is hands-on in orchestration, tracking, and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Technology Execution & Operations
- Own daily operational execution of the Archer Digital Technology Initiative across platforms, systems, data, and tooling
- Translate strategic priorities into executable plans, milestones, and operating rhythms
- Ensure alignment between roadmap commitments, delivery capacity, and business readiness
Program & Delivery Management
- Run execution cadences (daily/weekly syncs, delivery reviews, milestone checkpoints)
- Track progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery health across initiatives
- Drive corrective actions when delivery is off-track, including scope, sequencing, or resource adjustments
Cross-Functional Orchestration
- Serve as the primary execution point of contact across Corporate Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Flight Test, Quality, and Operations
- Coordinate cross-organizational dependencies and resolve blockers that impact delivery
- Ensure operational readiness and adoption are integrated into delivery plans
Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
- Identify execution risks early and proactively escalate with clear options and recommendations
- Manage critical-path dependencies across systems, data, security, and operational workflows
- Support certification-critical and production-impacting technology workflows as needed
Operational Transparency & Reporting
- Maintain clear, concise reporting on initiative status, decisions, risks, and outcomes
- Provide leadership with actionable insights, not just activity updates
- Ensure decisions, milestones, and commitments are documented and communicated
Continuous Improvement
- Improve execution processes, operating models, and delivery standards across Digital Technology
- Reduce friction, handoffs, and ambiguity in how work moves from intake to delivery
- Establish repeatable operating mechanisms that scale with Archer’s growth
What This Role Is Not
- Not a purely strategic or advisory role
- Not a traditional IT project manager focused on a single system
- Not responsible for direct people management (unless explicitly assigned)
- Not accountable for functional ownership of platforms—but accountable for execution outcomes
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of experience in technology operations, program delivery, or large-scale digital initiatives
- Proven ability to run complex, cross-functional execution in fast-paced environments
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology ecosystems (applications, data, security, integrations)
- Demonstrated success managing dependencies, risks, and delivery tradeoffs
- Exceptional communication skills—able to drive clarity, alignment, and accountability
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and evolving priorities
Preferred
- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, hardware-software integrated environments, or regulated industries
- Familiarity with certification-critical workflows and operational readiness planning
- Background working with PMOs, DTOs, or technology transformation offices
- Experience supporting production, test, or mission-critical operational systems
Success Measures
- Digital Technology initiatives deliver on time, with clear ownership and minimal friction
- Cross-functional teams are aligned and unblocked
- Leadership has real-time visibility into delivery health and risks
- Operational readiness and adoption keep pace with technical delivery
- Execution discipline improves quarter over quarter
