Your Future Team

Rulien, now part of Archer Lewis, is a respected Anchorage-based public accounting firm known for delivering high-quality tax, accounting, and advisory services while building long-term relationships with clients and the communities it serves. As we continue to grow and invest in the future of the firm, we are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our team in a hybrid role. This is an opportunity to become part of a collaborative, client-focused culture, contribute to strategic growth initiatives, and play a key leadership role in shaping the next chapter of Rulien within the Archer Lewis organization.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Tax Manager will oversee complex tax engagements, manage client relationships, and provide technical and strategic support to our leadership team. This is a remote position with the opportunity to assist in taking over an established client base and support the principal with firm management duties. For the right individual, this role offers significant growth potential, including future leadership or partnership opportunities.

  • Lead and review complex tax engagements for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Mentor and supervise tax staff, providing training, technical review, and performance feedback.
  • Assist the principal in managing firm operations, workflow, and client transitions.
  • Participate in succession planning by helping to take over and grow an existing client base.
  • Research and apply current tax laws to ensure compliance and provide strategic tax planning.
  • Contribute to business development and firm growth initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting, with strong technical tax expertise.
  • Demonstrated success managing tax engagements and client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment while collaborating with a distributed team.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in career growth and potential future ownership/leadership.

Compensation Range

$145,000 - $155,000 USD
