Regional Clinical Nurse Educator

Position Summary

The Regional Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing clinical education, internship programs, and hospice curriculum development across all Arc Hospice Florida sites. This role ensures regulatory compliance, high-quality learning experiences, and consistent training standards for hospice staff, interns, and academic partners. The Educator leads Arc Hospice’s statewide internship initiatives, manages preceptor oversight, develops hospice and palliative care curriculum, and represents Arc Hospice in academic partnerships, including Nova Southeastern University and local colleges.

 

This position plays a critical role in advancing Arc Hospice’s mission to expand access to hospice education, strengthen the future workforce, and support diverse communities through targeted internship programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Internship Program Leadership

· Oversee all internship programs across Florida, including nursing, gerontology, social work, music therapy, pastoral counseling, and other approved disciplines.

· Manage and support intern preceptors, ensuring compliance with CMS, HR, confidentiality, and Direct Care Volunteer requirements.

· Develop and maintain standardized internship curriculum, learning objectives, and evaluation tools.

· Recruit interns through partnerships with colleges, universities, and community organizations.

· Ensure all interns complete the Direct Care Volunteer onboarding process to meet CMS regulatory requirements.

· Monitor intern performance, documentation, and compliance across all sites.

 

Academic Partnership Management

· Serve as the primary Arc Hospice liaison to Nova Southeastern University, coordinating curriculum development, field placements, and educational programming.

· Develop and manage a formalized internship program with a local educational institutions.

· Oversee Arc Hospice’s commitment to providing internship opportunities across multiple disciplines.

· Represent Arc Hospice at academic advisory boards, career fairs, and community education events.

 

Curriculum Development & Education Delivery

· Create and maintain hospice and palliative care curriculum for staff, interns, and academic partners.

· Provide in-person education at local colleges, universities, and training programs.

· Develop onboarding and continuing education modules for hospice staff, including clinical competencies, regulatory updates, and best practices.

· Lead the development and administration of Arc Hospice’s Hospice & Palliative Care Certification Training Program (HPNA/HPCC/HPNF).

· Ensure curriculum reflects current evidence-based practice, CMS regulations, and Arc Hospice standards.

· Develop accredited Continuing Education Unit (CEU) courses for facility partners, including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and hospitals, ensuring alignment with state CEU requirements and hospice best practices.

 

Regulatory & Compliance Oversight

· Ensure all internship and education programs comply with CMS Conditions of Participation, HIPAA, HR policies, and Arc Hospice confidentiality standards.

· Maintain documentation of intern training, volunteer onboarding, and preceptor supervision.

· Collaborate with Compliance and HR to ensure safe, ethical, and professional learning environments.

· Conduct periodic audits of internship and training programs across all Florida sites.

 

Operational & Leadership Responsibilities

· Provide leadership, coaching, and support to preceptors and clinical educators across regions.

· Coordinate statewide education initiatives, ensuring consistency and quality across all Arc Hospice locations.

· Track and report internship program outcomes, certification progress, and educational metrics to leadership.

· Support strategic planning for workforce development and clinical education expansion.

· Perform other duties as assigned to support Arc Hospice’s mission, growth, and educational commitments.

 

Qualifications

· Registered Nurse (RN) with current license in Florida; BSN required, MSN or advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum three (3) years of hospice, palliative care, or home health experience.

· Experience in clinical education, curriculum development, or academic instruction strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and supervise clinical staff and students.

· Strong understanding of CMS hospice regulations, HIPAA, and compliance standards.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

· Ability to travel up to 75% across Florida service regions.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

This role requires frequent travel to Arc Hospice offices, partner colleges, and community sites across Florida. The Educator may spend extended periods standing, presenting, driving, or sitting. Must be able to work in varied environments including classrooms, facilities, and hospice offices. Occasional exposure to emotionally sensitive situations related to end-of-life care.

Final pay is determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, location, and business needs at the time of hire. Some roles may be eligible for additional compensation components consistent with Arc Hospice & Palliative Care practices.

Compensation

$130,000 - $130,000 USD
