Equipment Operator 1
About You:
PureGrid is looking for an Equipment Operator to support electrical field operations by safely operating assigned equipment, assisting with material movement and site logistics, and helping crews execute installation work efficiently. This role is intended for an equipment operator who can support electrical construction activities under the direction of field leadership while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, awareness, and teamwork.
A Day in the Life:
- Operate assigned equipment safely and responsibly in support of electrical field operations
- Support electrical crews with material handling, staging, loading, unloading, and movement of tools, conduit, equipment, and job materials around the site
- Assist with site preparation and project support activities tied to electrical installation work
- Support excavation, backfilling, trenching, grading, or access needs as required for electrical scope and field execution
- Perform daily walkarounds and basic pre-use checks on assigned equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately
- Follow direction from foremen, general foremen, superintendents, and project leadership on daily priorities and sequencing
- Work safely around active electrical construction, energized-area controls, deliveries, and changing jobsite conditions
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas
- Support safe coordination with spotters and nearby crews when operating equipment in active work zones
- Accurately record time to the proper job and cost code and follow company timekeeping expectations
- Apply safe work practices at all times and stop work when conditions are unsafe
- Support other field tasks as needed to help the team execute electrical work safely and efficiently
Necessary Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating construction equipment in an industrial, commercial, utility, or heavy construction environment
- Ability to operate assigned equipment safely and productively with direction from field leadership
- Strong jobsite awareness and ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and nearby crews
- Ability to work safely in support of electrical subcontractor field operations
- Willingness to support hands-on field needs beyond equipment operation when required
- Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and team-first attitude
- Ability to travel to jobsites as needed
- Ability to work overtime or varied shifts based on project needs
- Ability to perform the physical demands of a field construction environment
