The Position
The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing O&M (Operations & Maintenance) health and safety procedures, processes, and policies across multiple Arevon locations. The individual will also provide support as needed to the Director of Health & Safety for various activities involving employees and contractors.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of sites to monitor compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Monitor defined health and safety targets, KPIs, policies, and procedures, ensuring their implementation by assessing site performance and conditions.
- Travel as needed for site visits and meetings with key stakeholders, including regulators, O&M service providers, and external consultants.
- Perform investigations and root cause analyses of recordable events and provide corrective actions.
- Support the contracting, selection, and management of vendors providing services, including reviewing and managing cost proposals, invoicing, work plans, and execution strategies.
- Assist sites in purchasing and maintaining necessary PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Support teams with compliance and environmental requirements as needed.
- Develop, maintain, and update risk assessments for sites in conjunction with site personnel.
- Develop, provide, and manage training programs and maintain records.
- Monitor regulatory agencies for updates on laws or best practices.
- Support site safety committee meetings and prepare relevant materials.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical safety on-site.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
- Act with integrity in all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) matters to maintain high levels of compliance and continuous improvement across the company.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 50%
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience, preferably in an O&M position. Renewable energy experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in program development and management from inception through maintenance.
- Demonstrated expertise in health and safety programs such as LOTO, QEW, NFPA 70E, and electrical safety.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Power BI experience is a plus.
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or a related field is preferred, though relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
