The Position
This new team member will be responsible for supporting the growing project development teams in the areas of title insurance, site control and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate will exhibit attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple areas of expertise. Our work environment is inclusive and flexible. Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed review of title reports, surveys, and underlying real estate documents to prepare real estate risk assessments.
- Develop and execute strategies to cure title issues including by not limited to subordinations, crossing consents, sub-surface land campaigns, and other curatives required for project finance and policy issuance.
- Manage mineral contractors, land agents, and ALTA surveyors on matters of land and title.
- Negotiate title coverages and manage title policy deliverables for the development team.
- Provide updated trackers and report to the development team on project real estate status and risk assessments.
- Populate legal instruments and land contract schedules.
- Assist in the abstracting real estate instruments for internal land management systems.
- Develop and implement process improvements in line with company objectives.
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of relevant experience with a law firm or real estate developer.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and confidence across the company.
- Ability to work as an integrated part of a team in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Attention to detail and the desire for continuous process improvement.
- A bachelor’s degree (BA/BS), or comparable education, training, and experience is required. A law degree or paralegal certificate is not required if candidate can demonstrate relevant real estate development experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Energy industry experience is a plus but is not required.
- GIS experience is a plus but not required.
