The Position
Arevon is recruiting for the position of Associate, Performance Engineering, an outstanding opportunity for individuals seeking an exciting, high-growth work environment in one of the most important industries for the 21st century. Key Responsibilities
The Associate, Performance Engineering will be responsible for on-going performance optimization for a fleet of standalone PV, BESS and PV+BESS assets throughout the USA. The role will be part of the Performance Engineering team. At a high level, this person will be responsible for:
- Maximizing performance of assets through analytics and engineering.
- Reviewing technical documents and acceptance test during the project handover process.
- Act as technical lead in identifying and driving performance improvement opportunities via:
- Technical Management of Solar and BESS assets
- Technical optimization analyses of asset portfolios
- Develop, implement, and improve methods for detecting, reporting, and analyzing performance issues
- Remotely diagnose electrical faults in equipment such as inverters, trackers, and transformers, then coordinate with field technicians to ensure swift and effective resolution.
- Develop and support maintenance strategies to optimize performance of renewable assets and identify areas of underperformance, drive improvements and corrective actions via management of third-party contractors.
- Work with internal maintenance engineering team in developing effective spare parts management program.
- Continuously evaluate software systems, processes, procedures and drive improvement within the performance and operational engineering teams to support Arevon’s growth.
- Serve as the key technical resource for on-site technicians and manage relationships with equipment manufacturers for warranty claims and advanced technical support.
- Coordinating with internal and external engineering and construction teams on project substantial completion testing and verifying or running capacity tests
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in operations and maintenance of utility scale solar and BESS systems.
- Proficient in using CMMS system to create, manage, and track all work orders for corrective and preventive maintenance. and be able to analyze equipment failure history and report on key maintenance metrics to inform operational strategy.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of power plant components, including inverters, trackers, transformers, and medium-voltage (MV) systems.
- Proven track record of working well within a team environment, taking ownership of processes and procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in software languages and data analysis platforms such as VBA, Python, R, SQL etc.
- Any experience with PVSYST and energy modeling experience of terrestrial photovoltaic systems is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, highly motivated and results oriented, process oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office Productivity tools such as Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Power BI, Planner and Lists etc.
