The Role:
Arine is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer, PDF to join our team. This person will be responsible for functional and user acceptance testing, preparing test cases, testing data, and test conditions with a specific focus on validating the contents of PDF documents, executing test cases, capturing and reporting results using approved tracking tools, managing defects from inception through resolution, and coordinating user acceptance test activities with product owners.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Participate in application design sessions with the development team and product owners, and understand the requirements
- Collaborate with product owners and business analysts on the necessary approach for adequate testing coverage
- Participate in project meetings such as defect triage and requirements documentation reviews involving cross-functional teams and key business stakeholders
- Develop and execute test cases specifically for PDF generation and content validation, as well as testing our Portal web application
- Actively manage application defects from inception through resolution, working with business SME's, application designers, developers, and product owners to effectively prioritize and drive to resolution
- Analyze business requirements and develop test plans, test cases, and test strategies
- Play a support role within a team and work independently
- Coordinate with Team Leads
Our Ideal Candidate Possesses:
Experience in Manual Testing
- 5+ years of experience in QA testing of web applications, preferably SaaS platforms
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test case design, and defect reporting
PDF Validation Focus
- Ability to validate system-generated PDFs against provided templates.
- Experience checking formatting, content accuracy, and layout fidelity.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure all variable fields and dynamic data render correctly in generated PDFs.
- Comfort using tools to compare PDF content (visual and text-based checks).
Web Application Testing: Skilled in executing functional, regression, and exploratory manual testing.
- Familiar with validating front-end UI, form data handling, and error messaging.
- Ability to enforce good acceptance criteria
Requirements & Acceptance Criteria
- Ability to enforce best practices for acceptance criteria in user stories and tickets.
- Pushes back on incomplete or vague requirements; insists on clarity before testing begins.
- Skilled at collaborating with product managers and developers to refine acceptance criteria into testable conditions.
General QA Skills
- Proficiency in documenting test cases, test results, and bug reports clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (JIRA)
- Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and isolate root causes.
- Ability to work closely with developers and product managers to reproduce and resolve issues.
Work Style
Resourceful and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity. Self-starter who proactively seeks out information, clarifies requirements, and drives issues to resolution. Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have familiarity with PDF inspection tools or libraries.Basic understanding of automation concepts (though this is primarily a manual testing role).Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Excellent communication skills with product and development teams to ensure the highest test coverage possible. Experience with a BDD framework will be a plus

The posted range represents the expected salary for this position and does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, benefits, and perks. Ultimately, the final pay decision will consider factors such as your experience, job level, location, and other relevant job-related criteria. The salary range for this position is: $110,000-130,000/year.

Information Security Roles and Responsibilities:
All staff at Arine are expected to be part of its Information Security Management Program and undergo periodic training on Information Security Awareness and HIPAA guidelines. Each user is responsible to maintain a secure working environment and follow all policies and procedures.
