We are looking for a Kotlin Engineer (Buenos Aires based) to join Arion's team!

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to anchor the Mobile Service Layer (MSL), the Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) that serves as the orchestration brain for premium travel applications.
This isn’t a traditional CRUD backend role or a pixel-pushing UI position. We seek for an engineer who understands the native mobile lifecycle deeply enough to architect high-performance, mobile-optimized APIs at scale. You will be the technical bridge between native Android and iOS teams and a complex web of travel data partners, ensuring every mobile interaction is fast, reliable, and secure.

What you'll do:

● Architect the Orchestration Layer: Design and maintain scalable, Kotlin-based APIs that aggregate data from multiple enterprise sources into lean, performant payloads purpose-built for mobile consumption, respecting device constraints like battery, bandwidth, and lifecycle state.
● Own the Integration Contract: Define and evolve the formal API contracts and schema governance that decouple upstream mobile release cycles from internal platform iteration, enabling independent team velocity without sacrificing stability.
● Drive System Performance: Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks across the API and integration tiers, targeting sub-second response times and high availability within a travel ecosystem that demands real-time pricing, availability, and booking confirmation.
● Collaborative Technical Leadership: Engage in high-level architectural discussions and partner with cross-functional teams (iOS, Android, QA, and external partners) to define, design, and ship features that meet enterprise security and compliance standards.


What we're looking for:

● The Hybrid Edge: 7+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial work in server-side Kotlin and deep familiarity with the Android SDK. You understand mobile constraints well enough to build backend services that respect them.
● BFF Pattern Mastery: Proven track record implementing the BFF pattern with RESTful APIs or GraphQL in high-traffic production environments, not toy projects, but systems handling millions of requests with real SLA pressure.
● Architectural Discipline: Comfort operating within established enterprise architectures, navigating complex dependency chains and downstream service tiers, with the judgment to evolve them incrementally without breaking production.
● Modern Stack Proficiency: Deep skill in Kotlin Coroutines and Spring Boot, with the ability to design solutions spanning multiple database systems and asynchronous workflows.
● Agile Execution: You thrive in Agile/Kanban environments and bring the collaborative instincts needed to work alongside external clients, partners, and vendors with competing priorities.
● Ownership Mentality: You don’t wait for tickets. You see systemic issues, propose solutions, and drive them to completion.
● Advanced English level.
