MSW Intern (Remote)
About Arise
Care to heal your body and mind
Someone dies of an eating disorder every 52 minutes. This isn’t a niche problem — 5 million Americans will experience this life-threatening condition every year, yet up to 90% will never have access to the care they need. Arise was started by and for people who have lived with eating disorders themselves to build the first tech-driven collaborative care model for eating disorders. Delivered virtually through an app and video sessions, Arise brings together peer support with person-centered clinical care to bring people the right care while expanding access to many more people — including underserved communities like BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and others who don’t fit the incorrect stereotype of what an eating disorder “looks like.” Together, we are building a new kind of care where healing is accessible to all. Arise is backed by leading VCs and growing quickly to expand access to eating disorder care across new states & populations this year.
About the role:
We’re seeking MSW candidates who are interested in working with people who have eating disorders in a clinical or supportive setting. You will be joining as an intern to support our care team and be a part of bringing our care model to people of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
In this role, you will partner with our care team and members from the start, spending time getting to know members, providing case management activities such as referral linking, assessing for SDoH, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team— and from there, supporting members on their healing journey. You will be a key member of the care team, collaborating with our care advocates, therapists, dietitians, and other providers to ensure your members get care that works for them.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide support to our care team in assessing and triaging SDoH needs of our members.
- Act as a supportive partner to members in referral linkage and coordination.
- Attend weekly care team meetings, becoming a contributing part of our Arise Care Team.
- Participate in all required trainings, meetings, etc.
- If applicable, provide counseling services under the supervision of LCSW and attend weekly supervision meetings.
What we’re looking for:
- Must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a university’s Master of Social Work program in either Florida or New York.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Deep passion for supporting members and helping them navigate access barriers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong leaning towards collaboration
Benefits:
- Work experience to enhance the strength of your resume
- Experience working with an awesome, collaborative provider team providing solutions for members with eating disorders to become safe, strong and self-reliant.
- Hands-on experience working in the human service field.
- Enhancement of the skills of interviewing, assessment, case management and knowledge base of resources in the mental health field.
- Opportunity to participate and be active with a dynamic team of both clinical and non-clinical providers
- On-going support, supervision and recognition.
Our Values:
- Listen to lead. We’re not going to have all the answers. To effectively serve every person’s healing journey, we must start by humbly listening to and elevating all voices and experiences.
- Everybody matters. We’re here for people of any age, race, size, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, and background, because everyone deserves to be understood, respected, and supported.
- We’re all human. Being human means that we celebrate our successes together and support each other through the low points. We give each other the space to rise and fall and rise again.
The Arise team is located all over the country and this is a remote role. Travel for attendance at company and team offsites, marketing events and initiatives, and conferences may be required. We strongly encourage people who identify as BIPOC, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and members of other historically underserved communities to apply!
