Veterinary Criticalist Interested in Ownership

Dallas, Texas, United States

VETERINARY CRITICALIST
Ownership or Associate Opportunity | Arista Advanced Pet Care Dallas
Let’s start with what this ad is not going to say.
We are not going to tell you that everyone here is “like family.” Depending on your family, that may not even be a selling point.

We are also not going to list every monitor, scope, and ultrasound machine in the hospital. We have excellent equipment. We assume that matters to you, but probably not enough to make you move to Dallas.

What might is the opportunity to help build a multispecialty hospital with talented veterinarians who care enormously about their medicine, their teams, and how this hospital develops. They also have opinions.

Meet the owners
Arista Dallas is owned by specialists in emergency and critical care, internal medicine, and cardiology. They are accomplished veterinarians and human beings with lives extending beyond their board certifications.

Our internist is trained in acupuncture, happiest around horses, and brings fierce momma-bear energy to the people and animals she cares about, especially her son.

Our criticalist is raising a daughter, a couple of goats, and, whenever possible, at least one Golden Retriever. She works hard, moves in a million directions at once, and manages the controlled chaos of critical care while maintaining a household that sounds increasingly like a small petting zoo.

Our cardiologist is a trained opera singer, theater lover, and enthusiastic member of the bad-Chihuahua fan club. She is creative, fiercely protective of her technicians, and unafraid to speak up when something matters.

They are smart, intense, funny, and committed to their medicine.

Who we’re looking for
We are looking for a second critical care clinician who wants more than a job inside someone else’s finished hospital.
You may be a good fit if you:
  • Are generous with technicians and fellow doctors
  • Want to help build the culture, not sit on the sidelines and critique it
  • Have a sense of humor, because veterinary medicine is hard and we need to have some fun together while doing it
What working here looks like

You will practice in a modern emergency and multispecialty hospital where consultation happens in real time and complicated cases do not have to be managed alone.

Our Care Navigation team guides clients through the referral experience. Scribble provides ambient dictation, so you can spend less time staring at a screen and more time practicing medicine. Instinct serves as our EMR and PIMS, bringing patient care, communication, and workflow together in a system our teams genuinely enjoy using.
Production is paid monthly, and there are no mysterious calculations happening behind the curtain. Our production dashboard allows you to track your numbers daily, so you always know where you stand.

You will be supported and heard. Good ideas are welcome here. Even better, they have a reasonable chance of being implemented.

Ownership or associate path
If you are interested in ownership, you can own a meaningful piece of the hospital while continuing to practice medicine. You will participate in local decisions and share in the value you help create.

Real ownership is more than having a voice when the decision is easy. It also means working through difficult conversations, balancing your ideas with those of your partners, and considering what is best for the hospital, the team, and the people who depend on it. It is meaningful, sometimes messy, and worth it.

If ownership is not for you, we also offer associate positions. Associates work alongside the clinician owners and have meaningful influence over how medicine is practiced.

Did we mention there are no non-competes? We want people to stay because they like it here, not because they are handcuffed.

Finding your Dallas
Dallas is big and busy, but there really is a pocket for almost everyone.

If you want historic homes, independent shops, galleries, patios, and restaurants that give you a reason to leave the house, look at Bishop Arts. If high-rise living, parks, nightlife, and being close to everything sound more like you, Uptown may be the answer.
Deep Ellum brings live music, murals, eclectic restaurants, and enough personality to make you temporarily forget you are in a city famous for highways.

If you want more space, newer homes, highly regarded schools, and enough room to contemplate a few goats of your own, Frisco offers the family-friendly suburban version of Dallas.

Whichever pocket you choose, you will have access to an exceptional food scene, opera, theater, live music, professional sports, and two major airports with direct flights almost anywhere.
Dallas may not seduce you with cobblestone streets and quaint little cafés. It is more of a “give it a weekend, eat several things, explore a few neighborhoods, and then let’s talk” kind of city.

The practical stuff
  • Four weeks of paid time off
  • $5,000 annual continuing education allowance
  • 401(k) with a 4% match
  • Student Loan Repayment Assistance
  • Paid parental leave
  • Pet insurance
  • Production paid monthly
  • No negative accrual
  • No non-compete for associates
Arista was built around a simple belief: there need to be veterinarians who own hospitals again.
Owners who are in the building, understand the profession, and can make thoughtful decisions about how they care for patients, support their teams, and serve their communities.

We are not building a perfect hospital filled with people who never disagree. That hospital does not exist, despite what several job advertisements may have told you.

We are building something real with talented people who care, work hard, and want to make veterinary medicine feel worth choosing again.

If that sounds more interesting than another “fast-paced practice with a family feel,” we should talk.
