The Team
Our Finance team is looking for a Staff Accountant to help execute our accounting policies and processes so that we can meet our financial growth goals. This role will report to the Accounting Director, and will also work closely with our SVP of Finance, Finance Manager and team leads to ensure that our books are kept up to date and accurate for quick decision making and reporting. This role will own our accounts payable processes in addition to contributing to monthly close activities and helping to maintain accurate financial records in NetSuite. This role must be extremely detail oriented, efficient and have a deep understanding of GAAP. This role will be ever changing and will require the candidate to be adaptable and open-minded.
What You’ll Do
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices, corporate card expenses, and employee reimbursements accurately and timely
- Manage payment runs and maintain positive vendor relationships
- Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders on invoice questions, payment status, and documentation
- Maintain vendor master data and ensure W-9/1099 compliance
Month-End Close
- Prepare assigned account reconciliations, including AP sub-ledger as well as other potential accounts as needed (bank recs, prepaid expense, accruals, etc.)
- Post recurring journal entries and perform general ledger maintenance
- Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests
Additional Responsibilities
- Support annual financial audit with PBC preparation and auditor requests
- As the the team and accounting processes grow, assist in developing and updating thorough documentation of all processes
What We’re Looking For
- 2-4 years of accounting and AP experience in high-growth growth environments
- Willingness and ability to learn general ledger responsibilities as needs arise
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and the full accounting cycle
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with NetSuite and Airbase is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally and at different levels within and outside the organization
- Ability to prioritize, work independently and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
The estimated annual salary for this role is between $90,000 - $120,000, plus a competitive equity package. Actual compensation is determined based upon a variety of job related factors that may include: transferable work experience, skill sets, and qualifications. Total compensation also includes a comprehensive benefit package, including: medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, unlimited paid time off, generous parental leave plan, and others for mental and wellness support.
While we are a remote-first company, we have opened offices in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area, as an option for those in those cities who wish to work in-person. For all other employees, there is a WFH monthly stipend to pay for co-working spaces.
