
Technical Project Manager (Change Management)

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Change Management Specialist to lead our central change management process while ensuring adherence to our various compliance requirements. In this hands-on role, you'll be the connection point between our technical teams and our production environments, maintaining the integrity of our systems while ensuring all changes are implemented smoothly, safely, and in accordance with established standards.
Beyond managing day-to-day changes, you'll also look for ways to improve the process, making it more efficient and effective for everyone involved. You'll analyze workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, collaborate with stakeholders to implement streamlined procedures, and leverage data to drive continuous improvement. Your efforts will enhance visibility, accountability, and improve the overall change management experience across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end change management process, ensuring all modifications follow established protocols
- Coordinate cross-functional implementation of engineering changes with minimal disruption
- Track and report on change metrics, identifying bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
- Develop and maintain change management documentation and training materials
- Lead change control board meetings, facilitating decision-making among stakeholders
- Implement best practices and new methodologies to enhance the change management process
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, QA, and other teams to ensure smooth change execution
- Mentor junior team members on change management principles and practices
Qualifications
Must haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering project management, with demonstrated change management expertise
- Strong understanding of software engineering processes and product development lifecycles
- Strong knowledge of JIRA configuration management
- Experience with change management tools and methodologies (ITIL, CMMI, etc.)
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement in processes
- Strong organization and prioritization capabilities
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies
Nice to haves:
- PMP, CAPM, or change management certification
- Experience working in regulated industries (medical, finance, aerospace, etc.)
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies
- Familiarity with configuration management tools and practices
- Experience leading process transformation initiatives
