Position Description:

Arlo Solutions is seeking a Graphic Designer to create visual materials for Acquisition Workforce Training Conference and Industry Day events supporting HHS ASFR/OA. Working under the direction of the Meeting and Events Manager and in close collaboration with the Strategic Communications Specialist, the Graphic Designer produces event branding, digital and print materials, signage, and presentation templates that are accurate, accessible, and consistent with Government-approved designs.

Responsibilities and/or Success Factors:

Event Branding and Materials

  • Develop event branding and visual identities, including themes, logos, color palettes, and design standards for each event.
  • Design digital graphics, event guides, fact sheets, information papers, flyers, and social media graphics.
  • Create and refresh presentation templates and support formatting of speaker and leadership presentation decks.
  • Design graphics for the branded event site, mobile app, and email campaigns on the event management platform.

Web Design

  • Design and maintain branded event site pages, layouts, and landing pages on the event management platform, including registration, agenda, speaker, and resource pages.
  • Design graphics for the event mobile app and email campaigns and produce web-ready content in coordination with the Strategic Communications Specialist.
  • Ensure web pages are user-friendly, responsive across desktop and mobile devices, and conformant with Section 508 and web accessibility standards.

Video Editing and Multimedia

  • Produce walk-on videos, session openers, and other multimedia content for general sessions and the Senior Procurement Executive Awards Ceremony.
  • Add captions and other accessibility features to video content to meet Section 508 requirements.

Signage and On-Site Design

  • Design directional, registration, session, and digital signage, along with name badges and other on-site materials.
  • Support on-site signage changes during events to keep spaces consistent with approved event design.

Awards and Commemorative Items

  • Design certificates, plaques, trophies, and other commemorative items for the Senior Procurement Executive Awards Ceremony, including engraving and print layouts.
  • Prepare accurate proofs for Government review and approval before production.

Accessibility and File Management

  • Ensure all design products are Section 508 conformant, including color contrast, alternative text, and accessible PDF formatting.
  • Deliver editable source files alongside final formats and organize files for transfer to the Government-designated repository.

Collaboration and Quality

  • Work with the Strategic Communications Specialist and copy editor to ensure visual and written content align.
  • Support post-event photography and videography editing as needed.
  • Manage revisions through the Government review process and meet deliverable deadlines.

 

Minimum Qualifications Including Certificates: 

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of professional graphic design experience, with a portfolio showing event, print, and digital work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience with photo and video editing tools.
  • Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and creating accessible PDFs.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and revisions under deadline.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and ability to successfully complete an HHS background investigation.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Experience designing for Federal agencies or large-scale conferences.
