Senior Golang Engineer
About the Company
Armada is an edge computing startup that provides computing infrastructure to remote areas where connectivity and cloud infrastructure is limited, as well as areas where data needs to be processed locally for real-time analytics and AI at the edge. We’re looking to bring on the most brilliant minds to help further our mission of bridging the digital divide with advanced technology infrastructure that can be rapidly deployed anywhere.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of SDKs, APIs, and integration frameworks for Armada’s marketplace. You will play a key role in shaping how independent software vendors (ISVs) onboard and deploy applications across our cloud and edge environments, ensuring scale, security, and an exceptional developer experience.
Location. This role is office-based at our Bellevue, Washington office.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Own the design, development, and evolution of SDKs and APIs that power the Armada marketplace, ensuring scalability, usability, and long-term maintainability.
- Define and drive best practices for ISV onboarding workflows, including secure and reliable deployment patterns for applications running at the edge.
- Architect and optimize backend services for multi-tenant, cloud-native, and Kubernetes-based environments, focusing on scalability, availability, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with platform engineering (CaaS/GPUaaS), product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless integration between infrastructure capabilities and ISV-facing services.
- Lead and participate in technical design reviews, setting standards for API contracts, versioning strategies, and developer experience.
- Mentor mid-level engineers, providing guidance on backend design, API patterns, and cloud-native best practices.
- Introduce and maintain observability (monitoring, logging, metrics, alerting) for marketplace and ISV integration workflows to ensure reliability and fast issue resolution.
- Ensure code is clean, well-tested, and maintainable; establish practices that raise code quality across the team.
- Contribute to architecture documentation and advocate for consistent technical standards across marketplace services
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of backend development experience, with strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or a similar systems language.
- Proven expertise in designing and scaling SDKs and APIs used by external developers, including experience with API versioning, usability, and long-term maintainability.
- Deep experience with Kubernetes and containerized application deployment, including multi-tenant architectures, RBAC, and secure deployment workflows.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and hybrid cloud/edge integration patterns.
- Solid knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis) and data modeling for distributed systems.
- Experience architecting and optimizing CI/CD pipelines for Kubernetes-native environments.
- Familiarity with observability practices (monitoring, logging, alerting, metrics) for distributed services.
- Strong grasp of concurrency and performance optimization, particularly in Go (goroutines, channels, async patterns).
- Demonstrated ability to lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and set technical direction for backend or marketplace services.
- Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development practices (code reviews, branching strategies).
- Commitment to producing clean, maintainable, well-tested code with unit, integration, and performance testing.
