• Security Officer  - Community Focused (Temple Assignment)

Job Description:

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding properties, deterring criminal activity, and ensuring the safety of businesses, construction sites, and residential communities, etc. 
Your role requires vigilance, strong decision-making, and excellent communication skills to handle security incidents effectively. Officers are to walk the site, during their hourly tours to ensure the site is clear of trespassers. 

We are seeking a professional, personable Security Officer to join our team at a local temple. This is a unique assignment where customer service and presence are just as important as security.
The ideal candidate will create a safe, welcoming environment for families, children, and guests while maintaining a strong and confident security presence.

This position is perfect for someone who naturally balances approachability with authority - someone who can engage positively with the community while also being alert, proactive, and ready to respond when needed.

Shifts:

Monday - - - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 
Tuesday - - - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 
Wednesday - - - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 
Thursday - - - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 
Friday - - - 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 

Compensation:

$22.00 per hour

Security Guard Responsibilities:

• Greet members, families, and guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Maintain a visible presence to promote safety and reassurance
• Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity
• Control access points and verify authorized entry
• Conduct routine patrols throughout the property
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents or concerns
• Build positive relationships with staff, members, and visitors

• Observant, reliable, and professional at all times
• Ability to balance being welcoming and personable while maintaining authority

Security Guard Qualifications:

• Valid BSIS Guard Card (required).
• Current with BSIS Compliance
  • i.e: 8-Hour Initial Training Certificate
  • 32-hour continuing education certificates
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to remain alert, responsive, and proactive in high-pressure situations.

Equipment Requirements:

• Duty belt with:
  • Vest (required)
  • Pepper spray
  • Taser
