Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Recognition:
- Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606).
- Ensure revenue is stated consistently across all software platforms and reconcile the platforms to each other.
- Coordinate with accounts receivable & reporting teams to resolve revenue-related issues and provide guidance on revenue recognition matters.
- Perform revenue analyses and reconcile revenue-related accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Cost Control and Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze costs, including direct labor costs and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Coordinate with accounts payable & reporting teams to resolve cost-related issues.
- Prepare cost reports and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
- Perform cost analyses and reconcile cost-related accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of revenue and cost-related information.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including analysis of revenue and cost trends.
- Assist in the preparation of budgeting and forecasting related to revenue and cost.
- Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies related to revenue recognition and cost accounting.
- Participate in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard revenue and control costs.
- Support internal and external audits related to revenue and cost accounting, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Proven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Proven track record of success with oral and written communication.
- Proven track record of success in paying attention to detail.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
