The Position

Entra ID, MDM specialist and Systems Administrator acts as the subject matter expert on Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), MDM solutions like Jamf and Intune. The person will work in collaboration with the DevOps team to support day to day administration of the organization’s systems in areas such as Entra ID administration, MacOS and Windows workstations management, MDM policy management and general security of systems. 

Here’s an insight into your typical day to day:

  • Serve as the expert in cloud platforms including Entra ID, O365, and Atlassian, as well as collaboration and AI tools such as Slack and Claude, enabling users to work efficiently across connected systems and workflows

  • Create and maintain integration of Entra ID with various external and internal applications and services

  • Manage access controls and permissions as per management guidelines and ITSM processes

  • Troubleshoot MacOS and Windows workstation issues

  • Administer workstations remotely including security patching, endpoint protection updates etc.

  • Maintain and deploy Mobile Device Management policies as per management guidelines and best practices

  • Provide support services to staff for complex, technical and configuration issues related to Office 365 applications

  • Monitor and manage the user licensing of various software

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 3 years of experience in the following systems, technical/troubleshooting and operational support

Key Skills and Experience

  • Identity & Access Management: Entra ID administration and knowledge of LDAP directories.

  • Endpoint Security: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender, managing security across Windows and macOS devices, including policy deployment, alert monitoring, threat investigation, remediation, automated response workflows, and regular security audits to ensure compliance.

  • Mobile Device Management (MDM):

    • Microsoft Intune: Manage device compliance, application deployment, conditional access, and full device lifecycle management for both corporate and BYOD devices.

    • Jamf Pro: Administer macOS and iOS devices, including provisioning, enforcing security policies, software distribution, compliance configuration, and streamlining onboarding/offboarding processes.

  • Compliance & Standards: Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001/27002 frameworks, IT security best practices, ITSM, ITIL processes, and Change Management.

  • Networking & Security Infrastructure: Troubleshoot and support Remote Access technologies, VPN connectivity, and encryption technologies including IPsec, SSL/TLS, PKI, or equivalent. Experience with networking, firewalls, and load balancers.

  • IT Operations & Governance: Knowledge of ITSM, ITIL processes, and Change Management. Demonstrated experience with backup/restore operations and troubleshooting.

  • Automation & Scripting: Proficient in PowerShell scripting for task automation and operational efficiency.

  • Research & Continuous Improvement: Ability to perform industry analysis, evaluate updates or enhancements, document findings, and share knowledge across teams.

  • Self-motivated with strong prioritization skills; capable of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.

  • Responsible for after-hours and on-call support as required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • For this role, candidates located in Ontario can expect a base salary range of CAD $60,000 – $100,000. Placement within the range is determined by relevant experience, skills, and role level.

  • In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for an end-of-year performance bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including health and dental coverage.
