Product Developer/Product Manager

Artica Collective LLC, the powerhouse behind leading D2C baby and household brands SlumberPod, Colugo, and Doctor’s Choice, is looking for a consumer-obsessed Product Developer to be an integral part of our product development team. Our mission is simple: to enrich the everyday lives of our consumers by consistently launching exceptional products. As Product Developer/Product Manager, you will support our VP of Product Development and cross-functional team to refine and execute a product roadmap aligning to our brand strategies, market trends, and consumer needs.

About the Role:

The Product Developer/Product Manager is an instrumental connection between the VP of Product Development, Brand Teams, and our Product Development Team in terms of strategy and execution. Collaborating closely with our Leadership, Brand, and PD teams, this role involves understanding brand strategy, executing product roadmaps, manufacturing consumer goods, and ensuring design excellence throughout the product’s life cycle.

This is NOT a tech role. If you do not have experience with the development of physical consumer goods, please do not apply.

This will be a hybrid role, based in our Skokie office, with expected in-office days 3-4 days per week. This role will require occasional travel to meet with teammates or attend trade events.

This role will be highly visible, reporting to the VP of Product Development.

Key Areas of Responsibility (AORs) for this role:

  • Deeply understand the consumer, market, and key competitors for each brand in our portfolio
  • Collaborate with the VP of Product Development to develop and execute on Product Development initiatives, process implementation, and project directives.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Owners to support in developing and executing Project Blueprints, Product Roadmaps, Stage Gate presentations, and Product Development team communication
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain team to ensure they are operating in sync with the PD team.
  • Work with the India-based Product Development team to carry out process, projects, and plans coordinated with the US Based leadership team.
  • Participate in industry/market research and discovery across all categories.
  • Conduct on-the-fly market, user, materials, and usability research as needed.
  • Bridge the gap between Customer Service and Product Development to Integrate user feedback into future projects.
  • Review and evaluate product samples and relay feedback.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate processes and directives to cross-functional groups.
  • Strong ability to take a vision and build that into an execution plan.
  • You will work with Designers, Design Engineers, Brand Managers, Graphic Designers, Operations Associates, Sourcing, Compliance, and some third party partners.

About You:

You are an execution expert with a strong background in Product Management, Product Development and Brand growth for physical consumer goods. You are self-driven, collaborative, and can juggle multiple multi-faceted initiatives at once. You thrive on teamwork. Your collaborative nature and receptivity to feedback position you as a key team player in our design journey. You see the forest AND the trees.

Minimum Requirements for Applying:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in Product Development related field, such as Industrial Design, Product Design, Engineering, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 3-6 years working in Product Management or Product Development for consumer products.
  • Experience with Project Management Software, Monday.com preferred.
  • Experience interacting with vendors both domestic and overseas
  • Possess a basic understanding or familiarity with the manufacturing, development, and supply chain process.
  • Display exceptional visual, verbal, and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate process and directives to cross-functional groups.
  • Ability to manage diverse projects concurrently, consistently delivering on quality and timelines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with an unyielding commitment to perfection and innovation.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to work with global teams across multiple time zones

While it is not required, extra attention and preference will be given to those with experience developing baby gear, toddler gear, and/or juvenile products.
