Base Salary Range: $140K - $160K (not including benefits)
General Position Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the buildout and scaling of Arva Intelligence’s finance and accounting function. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supports audit readiness, and contributes to the development of internal controls and scalable processes.
This position plays a key role in maintaining financial discipline in a high-growth environment and works cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Ensure compliance with GAAP across all financial reporting activities
- Assist with external audits and maintain audit-ready documentation
- Support development and documentation of internal controls
- Coordinate with auditors and respond to audit requests
- Leverage tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy
- Optimize NetSuite and related systems to improve data integrity and workflows
- Identify and implement process improvements to support scalability
- Support system integrations and financial data reconciliation across platforms
- Support cash management, revenue recognition, and expense tracking
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
- Assist in preparation of board materials, investor reporting, and management reviews
Key Competencies / Requirements
- 4+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or high-growth company experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to apply it in a dynamic environment
- Experience with ERP systems required; NetSuite preferred
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Exposure to agriculture, agribusiness, or related industries preferred
- Experience in SaaS, environmental markets, or project-based revenue models preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
Preferred Competencies / Requirements
- Experience supporting audit processes in a high-growth or public-company environment
- Experience with system implementations or ERP optimization
- Familiarity with AI-enabled accounting tools or automation technologies
