Fulfillment Specialist - Specialty Pharmacy
What we are looking for
We are seeking a Fulfillment Specialist for our location in Berwyn, PA. This pivotal role will own patient member referrals to ensure that they move along through our custom workflow and that patients are able to get the appropriate services in a timely manner. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of the referrals by entering any necessary data, assessing specific requests, and performing any required follow-ups. The Fulfillment Specialist will act as the patient advocate guiding them through the process of obtaining pharmaceuticals not available with chain pharmacies.
The role is based in our Berwyn, PA office. This position will be required to be in the office 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, for the first 90 days for training purposes. After that, it will be a hybrid role that requires in-office work three (3) days per week.
What the position will be doing
- Provide efficient pharmacy hub services linking prescriptions with the pharmacies best able to fulfill the patient’s specialized needs for the lowest possible price.
- Utilize established pharmacy/clinical guidelines for decision-making.
- Make and receive occasional inbound/outbound calls.
- Generate any necessary or requested data and reports.
- Work within the Operations department and across different departments to obtain required information.
- Maintain a balance of productivity, quality, and timeliness to ensure everything gets accomplished.
- Create and support an environment that fosters teamwork, cooperation, respect, and diversity.
- Accurate and timely data entry of prior authorization requests within the prior authorization system is required to meet all client-specific and/or contract requirements.
- Receive prior authorization requests telephonically while utilizing multiple systems to confirm accuracy of the information being provided.
- Apply established pharmacy/clinical guidelines in decision-making.
- Establish and maintain a positive communication and professional demeanor with internal and external business partners.
- Ability to analyze, adapt, & create resolutions to problematic situations.
- Represent AscellaHealth in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for others.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.
Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities
- Specialty and non-specialty pharmaceuticals knowledge.
- Pharmacy Technician background a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, also interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to communicate with all levels within an organization, with clients, and customers.
- To be flexible and adapt to changing processes and procedures is essential.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to be highly transparent, ethical, and driven.
- Relentless attention to detail along with the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
