We're seeking a Data Pipeline Analyst to join our dynamic team at AscellaHealth, where innovation meets patient care and where your expertise will directly contribute to improving health outcomes for patients with complex, chronic conditions and rare diseases. This role offers the opportunity to design and maintain data pipelines while working alongside industry leaders in specialty pharmaceutical services. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, cloud‑based data pipelines using Azure, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, Python, and CI/CD practices while working alongside industry leaders in specialty pharmaceutical services. You will combine this technical foundation with business‑facing analytics, including rebate forecasting, database management, and process improvements, to deliver insights that drive financial performance and operational excellence. The ideal candidate thrives on working with large datasets, has strong attention to detail, and can translate complex analyses into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is a hybrid role based at our AscellaHealth headquarters in Berwyn, PA, but for the right person, we are open to making it a remote role within the United States.

About the role

Critical parts of the job/Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations using Azure Data Factory, SQL, Python, and CI/CD workflows to support analytics and reporting needs.
  • Develop and manage departmental tables, views, and data assets.
  • Design and deliver dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Perform regular data validation and testing to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues; contribute to governance and improvement initiatives.
  • Administer pharmacy rebates and ensure timely, accurate client payment reporting.
  • Monitor and forecast rebate-related financial performance; recommend strategy adjustments based on trends.
  • Conduct variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast) and communicate drivers effectively.
  • Extract insights from multiple data sources to identify patterns and opportunities.
  • Communicate complex findings clearly to executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Support contract implementation with Clients, Aggregators, and Pharma partners.
  • Collaborate with IT and data warehousing teams on architecture and pipeline development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

What this position will focus on:

Data pipelines

You will build and manage data pipelines and transformations to enable the rest of the team to perform analytics for forecasting rebate-related financial performance and developing strategies.

Business and Financial Analysis

You will monitor and conduct variance analysis, extracting insights to administer pharmacy rebates and identify patterns and business opportunities.

Collaboration and support

You will collaborate with IT and data warehousing teams on architecture and pipeline development and communicate findings to leadership and cross-functional teams within the organization.

Skills, Education & Abilities

Essential Requirements

  • Strong experience using SQL to build and maintain complex queries, tables, and views in a relational database environment (Microsoft SQL Server preferred).
  • Strong experience using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and dataflows to build pipelines and transform data.
  • Strong ability to manipulate, transform, and analyze large datasets.
  • Experience developing data transformations and analytical pipelines using Python.
  • Advanced experience with Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
  • Experience supporting BI and reporting tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Relentless attention to detail, and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
  • Passionate and curious person who looks to learn continuously and embraces the adoption of new technologies that impact business, markets, and user experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team setting effectively.
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with constantly changing and potentially competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, or 4-year equivalent, is required. Preferably with a concentration in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or another quantitatively driven field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an analytics-focused role with ownership of analytical datasets, data transformations, and business-facing reporting solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a STEM field or MBA is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Alteryx or similar workflow automation tools.
  • Experience working with US Healthcare, PBM, health insurance, medical claims, or pharmaceutical industries, preferred.
