The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle RDBMS, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and security in both on-prem and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration & Optimization

  • Install, configure, and maintain Oracle RDBMS across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Manage complex database storage structures, backups, and recovery strategies using tools such as Dell Modular Disk Storage Manager, Windows Disk Management, ASM Disk Manager, and DBCA.
  • Administer database user accounts and roles, ensuring appropriate access controls and compliance with security policies.
  • Regularly update and enforce database security protocols to protect sensitive data and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Refactor and automate database maintenance processes to improve performance, stability, and scalability.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of Oracle databases—from disk provisioning and configuration to secure decommissioning.
  • Document and streamline operational procedures to enable repeatable, error-free deployments and support knowledge transfer.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and data scientists to support data-driven initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, contributing to design discussions and project planning.

Cloud Migration & Azure Integration

  • Lead or support the planning, execution, and validation of Oracle database migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure, including lift-and-shift, replatforming, or refactoring approaches.
  • Work closely with Azure and Oracle teams to ensure seamless transition and integration of hosted services.
  • Provision and manage Azure resources such as Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, and networking components to support database workloads.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance in Azure using tools like Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices for Oracle databases in Azure, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Azure-native services (e.g., Azure Site Recovery, Availability Sets, or Zones)
  • Monitor and manage cloud resource usage to ensure cost-effective deployment and scaling of Oracle workloads in Azure.

DevOps & Automation

  • Integrate DevOps practices into database administration, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated monitoring.
  • Use tools like Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep to automate the provisioning and configuration of Azure infrastructure for Oracle databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle on Azure Linux VMs, including patching, tuning, and backup strategies.
  • Familiarity with Azure Migrate, Azure Database Migration Service, or third-party tools such Toad.
  • Knowledge of Oracle licensing models in cloud environments.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and networking between on-prem and Azure (e.g., VPN, ExpressRoute, Data Box).
  • Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
  • Experience with devops and automation

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
