Objective:
The Director of Business Operations will be the driving force behind operational excellence, ensuring that LMC Accounting becomes the center of excellence for both client work and financial metrics. This role will establish best-in-class operational processes, provide accurate and insightful data, and build scalable systems that support the firm’s strategic goals and ongoing growth. The ultimate goal is to streamline internal operations to deliver the highest level of service to clients while ensuring financial reporting and metrics are a key driver in decision-making and performance tracking.
Position Overview:
The Director of Business Operations will be responsible for driving operational efficiency across financial reporting, billing, collections, and administrative workflows. A must-have aspect of this role is a proven track record of automation through technology, ensuring processes are scalable, efficient, and free of manual inefficiencies. This role will also own the data and analytics function for the firm, manage an administrative team, oversee M&A operational integrations, and work closely with the IT team to ensure technical integrations and updates are smoothly rolled out. Strong people management skills, including coaching, mentoring, and team development, are essential.
What You’ll Do:
- Financial Reporting & Analytics:
- Develop, deliver, and update daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for department heads, the President, CEO, and Chief Growth Officer.
- Own the firm’s data and analytics function, ensuring data accuracy and providing meaningful insights to drive business decisions.
- Lead the development of performance dashboards and KPIs, ensuring leadership has clear visibility into business performance.
- Automation & Process Improvement:
- Lead and execute automation initiatives using technology across billing, collections, financial reporting, and administrative workflows.
- Utilize technology to streamline financial operations, eliminating manual intervention and improving accuracy and efficiency.
- Build, document, and socialize automated operational processes to ensure scalability and uniformity across departments.
- Billing & Collections:
- Oversee billing and collections processes, implementing strategies to optimize revenue collection and minimize delays.
- Work closely with department heads to address any billing-related issues or disputes and develop solutions.
- Drive improvements in collections efforts, leveraging both internal resources and third-party solutions as needed.
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Operational Integration:
- Lead and execute the operational integration of M&A activities, ensuring seamless transitions into LMC’s existing operational frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and integrate new entities efficiently, preserving operational excellence.
- Ensure that financial, reporting, and administrative processes are aligned across acquired companies and LMC Accounting’s core operations.
- Scalability & Infrastructure:
- Build and scale operational infrastructure, ensuring the firm’s processes can handle increasing complexity and volume as we grow.
- Regularly evaluate and enhance systems, tools, and workflows to ensure they meet the demands of a rapidly growing firm.
- Work closely with the IT team to ensure technical integrations and system updates are rolled out smoothly and effectively.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure operational initiatives align with broader strategic objectives.
- Leadership, Team Management, & People Development:
- Manage and oversee the financial operations and administrative teams, ensuring high levels of performance and efficiency.
- Provide strong coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for team members to ensure continuous growth and improvement.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture that promotes innovation and operational excellence.
- Serve as a key collaborator between financial operations, department heads, and the data analytics team, ensuring smooth communication and effective resource utilization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 7-10+ years of experience in financial operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of driving automation through technology to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
- Experience working with centralized IT teams to implement and manage system updates and integrations.
- Proven expertise in implementing financial automation, process improvement, and operational scaling in a high-growth environment.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in financial systems, ERP tools, and data analytics platforms.
- Proven expertise in managing data and analytics functions within a financial services or accounting environment.
- Experience with M&A operational integration is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.
- Industry experience in financial services, accounting, or professional services is a plus.

The annual base salary range for this role is $150,000-250,000. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of LMC’s salary range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education and/or skill level.
