The Role
At Lucas Horsfall, a CAS Senior manages the client relationship of our mid-to-large-sized entities, advising clients on appropriate financial and visionary strategies. The firm also encourages seniors to take ownership of their career, tailoring their career growth, direction, and progression to accommodate shifts and changes in their personal lives. The role will be achieved in a remote environment with the ideal candidate located in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the vision of the monthly financial close ensuring it is timely, and the monthly close deliverable is achieved.
- Ability to complete complex and non-complex account reconciliations (i.e. investment and equity roll forward schedules) and record transactions as part of the monthly closing process.
- Apply GAAP guidance related to the clients’ specific industry.
- Review financial statements, prepare variance analysis, and analyze unusual items.
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding of clients.
- Participate and lead special projects such as implementation of Bill.com, payroll provider conversion, and accounting system migration.
- Assist annually with the preparation of the financial statement audit with the client’s external auditors.
- Prepare annual business filings (i.e.,1099’s and business property tax statements (571-L).
- Ability to work on teams, assisting staff accountants’ problem solve issues on engagements.
- Mentor staff accountants and help them achieve success.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience required with month-end close experience.
- 1+ years of experience mentoring and training staff.
- BA/BS degree in accounting from an accredited university or a strong combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work efficiently and to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Must be able to take ownership of projects, think and work independently with the capacity to research issues and solve problems.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working as a Senior Auditor.
- Master’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
- Experience working with privately held clients.
- Experience working with Sage Intacct and Bill.com.
- Analytical thinking with strong organizational skills.

The pay range for this role is $80,000 - $88,000 per year. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education, and/or skill level.
