The Role

The Senior Product Manager will drive the product strategy and roadmap for Ascent's lending platform, working at the intersection of technology, business, and user experience. This role requires a seasoned product leader who can translate complex lending workflows into intuitive digital experiences while leveraging emerging technologies like AI to create competitive advantages.

 

As the ideal candidate, you'll combine deep product expertise with domain knowledge to deliver solutions that accelerate our growth, enhance client experience, and improve operational efficiency.

 

The Work

  • Define and execute product strategy and roadmap for core lending platform features and technological solutions across the organization, balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints while prioritizing improvements to the overall borrower experience.
  • Lead the integration of agentic AI capabilities into product workflows to automate decision-making and enhance user productivity across the organization.
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact features that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Conduct user research, analyze market trends, and gather stakeholder feedback to inform product decisions and prioritization.
  • Create detailed product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that clearly communicate the vision and specifications to development teams.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from concept through launch, including post-launch optimization and iteration based on metrics and user feedback.
  • Establish and monitor key product metrics to measure success and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers and technical leads to ensure product vision aligns with technical architecture and platform capabilities.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on product priorities and ensure clear communication of product decisions across the organization.
  • Provide detailed project status reports to key stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of product management best practices and processes that support rapid iteration and data-driven decision making.
  • Present product updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Stay current with lending industry trends, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Support go-to-market initiatives and work with customer-facing teams to ensure successful product adoption.
  • Mentor junior product team members and contribute to building a world-class product organization.
  • Participate in customer meetings and industry events to gather insights and represent the company's product vision.

 

Your Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 6+ years of product management experience with at least 3 years in a senior product role.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling B2B SaaS products, preferably in fintech or regulated industries.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to work effectively with engineering teams on complex system architectures.
  • Experience with modern product management tools (Jira, Confluence, Figma, analytics platforms) and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to drive product decisions and measure success.
  • Experience with AI/ML product integration and understanding of how to leverage these technologies for business value.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in requirements documentation.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred:

  • Experience in real estate, construction, or lending technology products.
  • Knowledge of lending lifecycle, underwriting processes, and financial services regulations.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code platforms and their application in enterprise environments.
  • Track record of building products that leverage automation and AI to transform business operations.
  • Experience working in high-growth startup environments.
  • Demonstrated success in products serving complex, multi-stakeholder workflows.

 

The Pay

Salary range is $130,000-145,000 with a discretionary bonus of 25% per year


The Work Environment

  • This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office 2 days per week, occasionally more often
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime.
  • Some nights and weekends required.
