Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Capital Markets and Treasury leader to drive the strategy, execution, and expansion of the firm’s capital structure . This role will be responsible for sourcing, structuring, and managing institutional capital, while overseeing treasury operations to ensure optimal liquidity, funding efficiency, and risk management. Reporting to the CFO and coordinating closely with the CEO and General Counsel, this leader will own the buildout of the firm’s capital markets function from current state to programmatic securitizer, including launch of an inaugural securitization, development and ramp of whole-loan sale and/or participation programs, and evolution of the capital stack to support the firm’s full-lifecycle lending vision.
The ideal candidate brings deep relationships across institutional investors, direct experience leading securitization and whole-loan sale / participation programs, a strong track record in structured finance and credit markets, strong interdepartmental teamwork and collaboration, and the ability to align capital strategy, treasury management, and lending operations in a rapidly scaling environment.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Strategy & Execution
- Develop and lead the firm’s capital markets strategy to support private lending originations and growth targets
- Structure and execute financing solutions, including warehouse facilities, securitizations, CRE CLOs, whole-loan sale programs, forward flow agreements, loan participations, and institutional partnerships
- Optimize cost of capital, liquidity, and leverage across the platform
- Lead the firm’s evolution from a balance-sheet warehouse funder to a programmatic securitization issuer, building a hybrid capital stack across warehouse, securitization, whole-loan sales, and loan participations to maximize capital velocity, ROE, and balance-sheet capacity
- Reduce guarantee structures over time through diversified funding strategies and negotiations with warehouse counterparties
- Define and execute the path to long-term capital products, including the development of an Agency correspondent lending program to support long-term takeout financing for the firm’s multifamily, manufactured housing, and homebuilder portfolios
Treasury Management
- Oversee the firm’s treasury function, including liquidity management, cash forecasting, and funding allocation
- Ensure efficient deployment of capital across lending programs and investment strategies
- Manage warehouse and bank credit facility relationships across a existing multi-counterparty bank facilities, advance-rate optimization, covenant compliance, and daily cash operations
- Drive wet-funding execution, advance-rate optimization, and pledge-to-leverage timing across all warehouse facilities to improve capital efficiency
- Build and maintain rolling cash forecasts and longer-term liquidity models integrated with the firm’s origination, servicing, and accounting systems
- Develop and implement policies for liquidity risk, interest rate exposure, and capital efficiency, managing an executing trades for the firm’s hedging strategy in conjunction with a third-party hedging advisory parter
- Partner with finance and accounting teams on cash management, reporting, and covenant compliance
Investor Relations & Capital Raising
- Cultivate and manage relationships with CUSIP investors, insurance companies, pension funds, credit funds, banks, and strategic partners (agency lenders, retail mortgage bankers, and homebuilders)
- Support debt capital raising across warehouse, securitization, term, and structured finance products, partnering with the CEO and CFO on equity capital activities as needed
- Negotiate Master Loan Purchase Agreements (MLPAs), forward flow agreements, and loan participation arrangements with banks and strategic investors
- Represent the firm at industry conferences (SFA, IMN, MBA, ABS East/West) to deepen its profile with the institutional investor and rating agency communities
- Partner with senior leadership and the firm’s board members on investor communications, reporting, and strategic positioning
Structured Finance & Transactions
- Lead structuring, underwriter selection, and execution of inaugural and subsequent securitizations, including residential transitional loan (RTL) deals and a future CRE CLO program collateralized by stabilized bridge and DSCR loans; chart the path between rated and unrated execution
- Build and manage relationships with rating agencies (KBRA, DBRS Morningstar, S&P, Fitch, Moody’s), bank underwriters, trustees, custodians, etc.
- Establish and scale a programmatic whole-loan sale program and a loan participation program (par sales with retained servicing strip, premium sales, and gain-on-sale execution) across RTL and future term products
- Partner with Legal, Operations, Finance, and Technology to build the operational, accounting, and reporting infrastructure required for securitization at scale
- Ensure efficient execution from term sheet through closing
Portfolio & Risk Alignment
- Collaborate with credit, underwriting, and portfolio management teams to align capital structures with asset performance
- Monitor market conditions and adjust funding strategies accordingly
- Lead asset-liability management (ALM) and interest-rate hedging across both floating-rate and fixed-rate products, including rate caps, swaps, and forward-starting hedges
- Monitor eligibility criteria, concentration limits, advance rates, and covenant baskets across all warehouse facilities and securitization vehicles
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop both the Capital Markets and Treasury teams, ensuring strong coordination between funding strategy and liquidity management
- Build scalable processes, infrastructure, and controls across capital markets and treasury functions
- Mentor team members and foster a high-performance, collaborative culture
Qualifications
- 10–15+ years of experience in capital markets, treasury, structured finance, or private credit
- Proven track record raising capital and managing liquidity in a lending or specialty finance platform
- Deep understanding of residential and commercial real estate credit, with specific experience in private bridge, construction, or RTL lending, or adjacent specialty finance
- Strong existing network of institutional capital providers, including warehouse banks, CUSIP investors, insurance companies, pension funds, and credit funds
- Direct experience leading securitization programs (RTL, CRE CLO, RMBS, or residential whole-loan), warehouse facility origination and renegotiation, and structured credit products
- Demonstrated experience overseeing treasury operations, including liquidity and risk management
- Demonstrated ability to lead asset-liability management and interest-rate hedging programs in a multi-billion dollar lending platform
- Track record of scaling capital markets and treasury infrastructure (process, technology, controls, accounting and reporting) for institutional credibility and rating agency readiness
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA preferred
Preferred Experience
- Experience within a private lending platform, fintech lender, or specialty finance firm
- Familiarity with real estate bridge lending, construction lending, or asset-based finance
- Experience scaling both capital markets and treasury infrastructure in high-growth environments
- Familiarity with agency multifamily programs (FNMA DUS, Freddie Mac Optigo Seller/Servicer)
- Experience building or relaunching a securitization program from inception, including establishing rating agency relationships and operational readiness
