Associate Scientific Director

Ashfield MedComms is looking to hire an Associate Scientific Director to join a global Medical Affairs team with a leading pharmaceutical client. This role involves working closely with our client as a partner and trusted advisor within a MedComms setting, and key therapy area knowledge in oncology would be advantageous.

You will be a senior scientific member of an existing team and should be able to demonstrate leadership aptitude, work closely with senior members of the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality scientific content, review the work of others and mentor junior colleagues on all aspects of scientific writing. You should use your medical communications expertise to work closely with clients as a partner/trusted advisor, build relationships with thought leaders, identify and support business opportunities with existing and new clients, help to provide accurate budgeting, account forecasting and development of the account, and look how to streamline processes.

You will be able to demonstrate and maintain a thorough understanding of oncology and medical affairs in your role and be able to build on your scientific knowledge in order to understand, analyse and assimilate market, therapy area and product information, contributing to conversations about this with the team and clients with a focus on ensuring your teams success.

You should have a commitment to quality, applying a sense of energy to all you do, and be able to always maintain a positive attitude, instilling pride in the team for the work produced

Content delivery will include training materials, congress and symposia work, and advisory board materials, with a focus on lung, bladder and breast cancer. Travel for client meetings and events is an important part of the role.
