
Histology Manager
We are seeking an enthusiastic Histology Manager to join our Translational Sciences team. Reporting to the VP of Translational Sciences, you will contribute and advise on the histology and immunology aspects of our bioprinted therapeutic programs. This includes leading a histology team, planning and performing lab experiments, analyzing data, and presenting the results to a diverse audience. Your contributions will be critical in advancing healthcare, driving the development of bioprinted tissue therapeutics that have the potential to revolutionize the treatment of diseases previously deemed incurable.
Responsibilities
- Design, shape and execute scientific studies to characterize host tissue responses to implantable bioprinted tissues in appropriate small and large animal models using histological methods.
- Lead and guide histology team to understand priorities and complete studies as they come in.
- Interpret standard histology, immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry stains to understand host tissue responses to implants.
- Collaborate with biologists, biomaterial scientists, and engineers to provide histological insights and support their tissue analysis challenges.
- Drive key program milestones and direction by analyzing histological data, interpreting results, and presenting information through experimental reports and presentations.
- Maintain clear and rigorous experimental records, including electronic laboratory notebooks.
- Obtain expert level understanding of Aspect's microfluidic 3D bioprinting technology
Qualifications & Experience
- Education + Experience: PhD in Immunology, or another relevant scientific discipline, and 2 years of experience or an MSc/BSc and 4-6 years of industry experience.
- Histology Knowledge: Understanding and hands-on experience with microtomy, tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and standard histology stains such as H&E, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence.
- Immunology expert: You are a subject matter expert in innate immune responses to implanted biomaterials and how to characterize them through histology. A background in immunology and molecular and cellular immunology techniques is desirable.
- Problem Solver: You love immersing yourself in difficult technical problems and coming up with solutions that work. You think outside the box and use your experience and intuition to identify when such solutions are realistic.

The hiring range for this role is $89,000 - $136,700, annually. Our pay scales are based on market data to ensure that compensation is competitive and fair. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers.
