In Vivo Co-op

We are seeking an In Vivo Co-op to join Aspect’s Translational Sciences team. Reporting to the Manager, In Vivo Operations you will be an integral part of our team supporting pre-clinical research and in vivo experimental activities. You will work closely with the in vivo team to ensure the smooth execution of experimental procedures, inventory management, and preparation of biological samples. This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience in experimental biology, and research facility operations, contributing to innovative research in drug development and therapeutic advancements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in vivo team with experimental activities, including regular and post-operative monitoring, IP/SubQ injections, SV bleed, and other ongoing tasks.
  • Participate in experimental preparation, execution, post-experimental monitoring and wrap-up tasks.
  • Prepare and autoclave tools, equipment, and study materials for in vivo experiments.
  • Support the inventory management of in vivo supplies.
  • Ensure accurate data entry, organization, and tracking of in vivo study records and findings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in the vivarium and research areas.
  • Ensure proper packing and transportation of samples and supplies between facilities.

Qualifications                                                                                    

  • Education & Experience: Student enrolled in cell/molecular biology, biomedical engineering, biochemistry, or similar program.
  • Experience: Previous experience executing research in a wet lab setting, with the ability to perform experiments, and have a full understanding of the research and development process.
  • Beneficial Experience: Hands-on experience with animal handling, especially rodent, and aseptic technique. Experience working with primary cells, or organoids in 3D culture systems would be advantageous but not required.
  • Detail-Oriented: You have an outstanding attention to detail and able to successfully execute experiments in a timely manner. You take pride in your work and strive for excellence.
  • Intellectually Curious: You have a burning desire to learn and explore various aspects of pre-clinical in vivo research in industrial settings.
  • Collaborative: You thrive in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced environment and believe that we can accomplish more by working together as a team.

The hiring range for this role is $3750-$4000, monthly. Our ranges are based on market data. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers. Note that base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Aspect.
