Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Senior / Principal Enterprise Architect with a focus on AI & Cloud Strategy to design and lead the technological blueprint for BMC’s digital transformation.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex health system needs and cutting-edge technology—including Generative AI, predictive clinical analytics, multi-cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and electronic health record (EHR/Epic) integrations. You will work closely with IT leadership, clinical champions, data security officers, and remote engineering teams to establish scalable, secure, and HIPAA-compliant enterprise architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic AI Architecture Leadership: Define and own the target-state enterprise architecture roadmap, integrating emerging AI, machine learning, and cloud paradigms
- to drive clinical and operational efficiency.
- Healthcare AI Infrastructure: Architect secure, scalable enterprise AI solutions—including LLM integration, Natural Language Processing (NLP) for unstructured clinical notes, RAG architectures, and predictive analytics models.
- System Integration: Drive hybrid and multi-cloud strategies (AWS/Azure) utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), event-driven architectures, and microservices.
- Healthcare Interoperability: Ensure seamless data exchange and application integration across core EHR systems (e.g., Epic) using modern standards like FHIR APIs, HL7, and SNOMED CT/LOINC terminology mapping.
- Governance & Regulatory Compliance: Establish enterprise standards that guarantee strict compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, NIST CSF, and patient privacy guardrails across all AI/ML deployments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical leaders, security teams, and application managers to translate complex medical workflows into resilient technical solutions.
Required Technical Skills
- Experience: 10+ years in IT/Enterprise Architecture, with at least 3+ years architecting enterprise cloud and AI/ML solutions (preferably within healthcare, life sciences, or heavily regulated industries).
- Data Ecosystem: Proven experience with Generative AI, Vector Databases, MLOps/LLMOps pipelines, and natural language processing.
- Familiarity with data standards (FHIR, HL7) and AI-ready data architecture.
- Cloud Infrastructure:
- Deep expertise in AWS managed services, Azure, and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK) and modern containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Security & Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of compliance frameworks, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and NIST cybersecurity frameworks.
- Language Proficiency: Advanced/Fluent English (C1/C2) is required for daily collaboration with US-based clinical and executive leadership.
