We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with a strong hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining modern data platforms using Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on data migration, data integration, and data product enablement initiatives, helping organizations build scalable, governed, and well-documented data ecosystems.
What you will do:
The ideal candidate combines solid engineering expertise with a strong understanding of data modeling, metadata management, and data product documentation. Experience with infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and metadata-driven architectures is highly valued. Documentation and ownership of data assets are key aspects of this role.
AI Application Development & Orchestration
- Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ingestion frameworks using Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform.
- Lead and support data migration initiatives between enterprise data
- platforms, including Snowflake-based environments.
- Build, optimize, and maintain data models that support analytics, reporting, and data product consumption.
- Develop and manage metadata-driven solutions, ensuring data assets are discoverable, governed, and reusable.
- Create, maintain, and enhance YAML-based configurations, metadata definitions, and deployment artifacts.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation for data products, pipelines, operational processes, and platform capabilities.
- Support CI/CD and infrastructure automation practices, leveraging Infrastructure as Code principles where applicable.
What you bring: Experience:
5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related data platform roles.
Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake in production environments.
Experience building data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer, or equivalent GCP services).
Proven experience delivering data migration or modernization projects involving Snowflake and cloud-based data platforms.
Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, data warehousing, and data modelling best practices.
Experience working with metadata management, data cataloging, and data governance concepts.
Proficiency in SQL and one or more programming languages such as Python.
Experience creating technical documentation, data product documentation, and operational runbooks.
Experience authoring and maintaining YAML-based configurations, metadata definitions, or declarative frameworks.
Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Experience implementing metadata-driven data platforms or DataOps frameworks.
Familiarity with data cataloging tools such as DataHub, Collibra, Alation, or similar platforms.
Experience defining data products, ownership models, and data contracts.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment patterns for data platforms.
Experience working in modern cloud-native architecture and enterprise-scale data transformation programs.
