- A company that listens, invests in you, and celebrates wins together
AspenView Technology Partners is seeking a mid-level Agentic Coding Engineer — an engineer who ships production software primarily by directing AI coding agents rather than writing every line by hand. Working within established patterns and alongside senior engineers, you will drive tools like Claude Code and Codex day to day, build and extend the MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that connect those agents to real systems and data, and contribute to multi-agent workflows that are fast, safe, and reviewable. You will treat prompts, agent configurations, skills, and tool integrations as first-class engineering assets — version-controlled, tested, and held to the same bar as any other production code.
What you will do:
Agent-Driven Delivery
- Build, refactor, and ship features by orchestrating agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex), keeping a tight loop of prompt, diff, test, and human review.
- Implement subagent and agent-team workflows with narrow responsibilities and least-privilege tool access, following team patterns.
MCP & Tool Integration
- Build and extend MCP servers and tools that connect agents to databases, APIs, logs, and internal systems.
- Apply tool-schema design, input/output validation, and additive versioning so agents call tools reliably and safely.
Safety, Security & Governance
- Follow established authentication, scoping, sandboxing, and secrets-handling practices for agent tooling.
- Apply guardrails and human-in-the-loop review so autonomous changes stay reliable and auditable.
Quality, Monitoring & Observability
- Contribute evaluations and regression checks that measure and improve agent performance over time.
- Instrument workflows and MCP servers with logging, tracing, and metrics; keep configs, skills, and hooks under version control and wired into CI/CD.
Collaboration & Enablement
- Work with product and delivery teams to turn target workflows into shipped automation.
- Document prompt strategies and MCP configurations so the wider team can adopt and extend them.
What you bring: Experience:
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on use of agentic coding tools.
- Solid engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript, with good Git and CI/CD practice.
- Demonstrable experience using Claude Code and/or Codex to ship real software — beyond experimentation.
- Experience building or extending MCP servers and tools: tool-schema design, authentication and scopes, and validation.
- Working understanding of multi-agent orchestration — subagents and agent teams, context management and basic failure handling in agentic loops.
- Solid prompt and context engineering skills, and the judgment to know when to trust an agent versus intervene directly.
- Exposure to evals for assessing agent output, and a security-aware mindset (least-privilege access, sandboxing, safe secrets handling).
- Excellent English communication skills — clear written design docs and the confidence to engage North American, UK, and European stakeholders directly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MCP servers in production — transport selection, OAuth/OIDC or SAML federation, and observability.
- Familiarity with FastMCP (Python) or the TypeScript MCP SDK with Zod for type-safe servers.
- Exposure to orchestration frameworks (LangChain / LangGraph) or agent-first IDEs.
- Relevant certification (e.g., Claude Certified Architect) or open-source contributions to MCP / agent tooling.
- Cloud experience (AWS or Azure) and a DevOps / DataOps background.
- Awareness of agent-to-agent (A2A) patterns and emerging MCP enterprise auth (PKCE, identity federation).
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent
