About the Role
We are looking for a mid-level OutSystems Developer to join a multi-month contract
engagement supporting an established, large-scale multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform. 
The platform is mature and OutSystems-based, and alongside ongoing platform work the team
is building out a new set of AI capabilities on the Microsoft Azure stack. You will contribute to
both: maintaining and extending the existing OutSystems codebase while helping deliver newer
AI-powered features built on Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search.
This is a supporting contributor position rather than a lead role. You will work under the
direction of an architect and a senior developer, with daily check-ins and close collaboration.

What You Will Do

• OutSystems Platform Development Develop, extend, and maintain modules within a large-scale, established OutSystems
  application on O11 (and ODC where applicable).
• Navigate, extend, and refactor existing and legacy modules, improving structure and maintainability rather than building only greenfield features.
• Design and implement module architecture, integrations, and API logic that align with platform standards.
• Apply OutSystems performance, security, and scalability best practices across the work you deliver.
• Implement and maintain role-based access control and tenant isolation patterns appropriate to a multi-tenant B2B application. 
• AI and Integration Work Integrate Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search capabilities into platform applications and features.
• Contribute to prompt design, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) patterns for AI-powered functionality.
• Build and extend AI-powered chatbots and conversational interfaces in an enterprise B2B context.
• Develop and consume REST APIs using JSON and asynchronous integration patterns, handling errors and edge cases reliably.
• Collaboration and Delivery work under the direction of a client-side architect and senior developer, taking clear ownership of assigned tasks.
• Participate in daily check-ins and keep the team informed on progress, blockers, and technical decisions.
• Context-switch effectively between maintaining the mature SaaS platform and contributing to newer AI initiatives.
• Manage day-to-day work independently, raising questions early and escalating risks when needed.

What You Bring

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a
  related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience

• 3–5 years of hands-on OutSystems development experience on O11, and preferably also on ODC.
• Demonstrated experience working within an existing, large-scale OutSystems codebase, comfortable navigating, extending, and refactoring legacy modules, not only greenfield build.
• Experience building applications using multi-tenant B2B application patterns.
• Experience delivering within a small, coordinated engineering team under the direction of an architect or senior developer.

Technical Expertise

• Strong command of OutSystems module architecture, integrations, and API logic.
  Working knowledge of performance, security, and scalability best practices within OutSystems.
• Familiarity with OutSystems security models and role-based access control.
• Hands-on experience integrating Azure OpenAI and/or Azure AI Search into applications, including prompt design, embeddings, RAG patterns, and API integration.
• Exposure to building or extending AI-powered chatbots or conversational interfaces, ideally in a B2B or enterprise context.
• General comfort with REST APIs, JSON, and asynchronous integration patterns.
• Azure-native experience specifically — this environment is standardized on the Microsoft Azure stack, and AWS or GCP equivalents are not a substitute.

Certifications

• OutSystems certification at Associate or Professional level (or above) is preferred, though
  not required.
