About the Role
We are seeking a Performance Lead to spearhead our performance engineering initiatives while contributing to functional test automation efforts. This role is pivotal to ensuring the scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of our fintech platform across web, API, Android, and iOS applications.
The ideal candidate will be an expert in designing and implementing robust performance testing strategies and frameworks, while also supporting the evolution of our functional automation infrastructure. You will play a key role in driving performance culture, optimizing systems, and integrating performance testing into Agile workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Strategy & Architecture (75%)
- Define and implement comprehensive performance testing strategies (load, stress, endurance, capacity).
- Design performance analysis dashboards to identify bottlenecks and provide actionable insights.
- Establish guidelines and baselines for benchmarking, latency, throughput, and scalability.
- Build and maintain performance testing frameworks using tools like JMeter, Gatling, k6, or similar.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering to analyze test results and recommend improvements.
- Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
- Contribute to capacity planning and infrastructure scaling to support high-volume fintech operations.
Functional Test Automation (25%)
- Support the development of automation frameworks across web, API, Android, and iOS.
- Ensure robust integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines for faster releases.
- Optimize test execution time, stability, and platform-wide parallelization.
- Explore AI-based automation for test failure analysis, reporting, and prioritization.
Process Optimization & Governance
- Define best practices for performance engineering and contribute to automation coding standards.
- Promote shift-left testing practices across both performance and functional QA.
- Define and track KPIs/OKRs for system performance, efficiency, and automation ROI.
- Evaluate and introduce new tools and methodologies for both performance and functional testing.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Security to embed performance from day one.
- Mentor performance engineers and guide team members in automation best practices.
- Promote cross-team ownership and drive POCs for new tools and frameworks.
- Foster a culture of performance and quality ownership across teams.
Requirements
Must-Have:
- 8+ years of experience with strong emphasis on Performance Engineering and exposure to Test Automation.
- Proven experience in designing scalable performance testing frameworks for Web, API, and Mobile.
- Hands-on with performance tools like JMeter, Gatling, k6, Locust and monitoring tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, Grafana.
- Strong understanding of performance monitoring, cloud scalability, and load balancing.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with knowledge of planning, executing, and reporting performance tests.
- Familiarity with functional automation tools and practices.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in fintech, banking, or other highly regulated domains.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for performance testing and scaling.
- Exposure to chaos engineering and shift-left performance testing techniques.
- Understanding of test automation frameworks using tools like Selenium, Appium, RestAssured.
- Experience designing monitoring dashboards and leveraging analytics for performance insights.
