About the role:
- Project Management: Lead the AML remediation project from initiation to completion, ensuring all objectives are met within scope, time, and budget constraints.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure that all remediation activities comply with relevant laws and guidelines.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the compliance, legal, risk management, and operations teams, to implement remediation plans effectively.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of remediation activities, including action plans, progress reports, and final outcomes. Ensure all documentation is accurate and accessible for audit purposes.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all relevant staff are aware of AML policies, procedures, and their roles in the remediation process.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory bodies, detailing the progress of remediation efforts and any significant findings or issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance the effectiveness of AML controls and compliance.
Minimum qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, law, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., CAMS, CFE) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in AML compliance, with a strong focus on remediation projects. Experience in project management is essential.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of AML laws and regulations, as well as best practices in financial crime prevention and detection.
- Skills: Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with AML systems and software.
- Previous experience in a financial institution or regulatory body.
- Knowledge of global AML regulations and trends.
